Exciting! I'm looking forward to more details on this.

I don't know if Black Adam could work as a solo film, I suspect a spin-off will be dependent on how Shazam is received.
I imagine WB won't move up Shazam as they already have Fantastic Beasts II plus Aquaman is only a month before.
I think they might be making the black Adam movie first tbh. They'll probably play it as an antihero movie and then move into shazam after. Personally I'm fine with that decision if that happens.
I would be pretty shocked if they didn't announce a second DC movie for 2018 schedule.

Well if they want to release it in 2018, they will have to start shooting this year. Will The Rock even have an opening in his schedule this year?
I'm not sure tbh.
I know him and his production company met with Johns last week and they were all posting about it. He's also said in interviews in the past because they've been working on the movie for so long he expected it to come out before 2019.
I think we'll be hearing an announcement soon as to what the other DC movies will be for next year as it's pretty obvious Batman will probably be coming out in 2019. I have a feeling it might be this one or Gotham city sirens or both for 2018( along with Aquaman) but we'll see.

Is this movie ever coming out? I feel like we've been reading about The Rock playing Black Adam for like 10 years.
I believe it was supposed to come out in 2019 but I think since we've heard so much chatter about it recently it will be coming sooner.

Dark Universe already has a director so it's possible it'll film this year for a 2018 release though I'm not sure where it could go.
It's possible as well ya.
I know they've been developing the Shazam Movie for awhile cause the rock was signed on years ago and his production company is part of the movie and they have a big say in the movies direction etc.
I'm perfectly fine with whatever they do, I've enjoyed everything that has come out.
I'm really excited for the next few years of comic book movies from all the companies.

So DCEU will only have one movie in 2018, Aquaman ?
That's the way it looks right now unless they're fast tracking Gotham city sirens or something else. The rock keeps making posts about DC movies etc so maybe there will be an announcement for Shazam coming.

I completely get what you are saying, but do we know if the EW article claiming that production starts April, 11st is the real deal or some sort of attempt of damage control after the McWeeny article went out of control? Completely devil's advocate proposition, but is there signs that they are actually starting this in ten days? And where? I think that at least some discussions between execs are happening, it's only reasonable they are having those.
The whole cast and Snyder is on Conan tomorrow in the states and I'd imagine they'll have some kind of announcement about whatever is happening going forward. They've been talking about this appearance for a few weeks now.

The negativity will increase to the film over time as more non fans see it especially the detractors.
I agree with this and they'll have to make sure they do a better job with JL if they want more success going forward.

Maybe it was the $ 200 million spent on marketing that caused all this expectation. I do not believe that Warner as with a final of less than 1 billion, all routes to this, the film is a soft flop in big markets like China, France and Japan.
I repeat, if the movie was good would easy 1.5 billion.
That's your opinion and you're entitled to it, I disagree. I do agree they left money on the table but to say an "easy 1.5 billion" is just wrong. You're not factoring in any of the negatives at all before release.

The Avengers - 1.5 billion
Age of Ultron - 1.4 billion
Iron Man 3 - 1.2 billion
Civil war - I believe it will make more than 1 billion
Infinta War 1 and 2 - Sure will make more than 1.5 million.
If the movie was good, BvS had the potential to overcome the Avengers. I repeat, do not see any other movie in the DC Universe doing more than BvS, not even the Justice League.
Zack Snyder blew it.
I disagree, I think people made unrealistic expectations for this movie that it was just never going to meet.

Someone agrees that BvS will be the highest grossing film of DC? I see no other film of DC (Justice League 1 and 2, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, etc.) doing more than BvS.
In short, the chance that DC had to make a film that has scooped more than 1 billion was wasted. In my opinion, if BvS was a good movie make easy 1.5 billion.
Congratulations Zack Snyder! You should be arrested!
Imo BvS was never making more then 1.3 billion. It's coming off mos, had its release delayed, had trailers people didn't like and let's not forget we had tons of people question Affleck and Gadot in their rolls. Had the reviews been better, wom would have been way better and that could of taken it to the higher end, right now it looks like the movie should make that billion. I personally see JL1 making more then BvS and also see a solo batman movie making more as well.
I think WB is a lot more pleased then any of us think, if this crosses the 700+
million mark Sunday like predicted that would be a pretty good 11 days for them.

My movie was at 8:30 which is pretty late when you consider the movie is over 2.5 hours and there was quite a few kids at mine as well.
also, critics and other people seriously exaggerated how violent the film was. This was really nothing, I would have no issue allowing my kids who are 8 and 11 to watch this. I didn't allow them to see deadpool though.

I just got in from seeing it for the first time, I thought it was pretty epic, 8.5/10. I saw it in 3D Avx, I'm from north of Toronto in Canada. My show was at 8:30 and the show was sold out as was the midnight showing after mine.

I'm fine waiting for something as long as it's done right. Flash is one of my favourite super heroes.
