It's very likely to receive a Best Picture nom, Jonze could get in for Director, and it seems like the actual Original Screenplay Oscar is gonna be between it and American Hustle.
And an Edgar Wright film is gonna get shamefully snubbed... once again.

Hm. So if what I posted was neither PG-13 nor pornographic and there was a warning but it wasn't in the topic title or description... anyway, I removed it, at least for now.
I think I'll give in and watch the WOWS screener, and I'll be sure to watch Short Term 12 in the next couple of days. Might still send my ballot without seeing American Hustle, Her, Inside Llewyn Davis, Blue is the Warmest Color and Dallas Buyers Club, though.
A great film Walter Hill has directed is The Driver (sadly, it's pretty much the only one of his I've seen). Great little piece of minimalistic neo-noir with a stoic Ryan O'Neal, an unhinged Bruce Dern, a very young and very beautiful Isabelle Adjani and a shitton of atmosphere (dat LA at nighttime). Required viewing for everyone who loves Refn's Drive.
So they aren't fans of Dallas Buyers Club, that much is obvious. Shame to see Redford snubbed here too, and it's extremely weird that Damon gets nominated for Behind the Candelabra while Douglas doesn't, no matter how crowded the lead actor category may be.
Not sure even that would've sufficed in a year as strong as this. Look at Elizabeth Olsen in 2011. If Winter's Bone had been released in 2013 with Lawrence being an unknown, I don't think she'd have gotten in either.
Is she really the frontrunner? She has won about twice less awards than Nyong'o so far, and her win last year should only take away from her chances. She's clearly #2, but only because the rest of the field is so weak.
Should be noted that the NSFC Award for Best Supporting Actress and the Oscar in the same category only went to the same person 9 times in the past 47 years; and only once in this century.
How can you not love those people that think if they didn't enjoy a classic movie then all those who did just willingly deluded themselves. It's almost adorable.
