  1. I didn't like The Grandmaster, but I like that it's not being completely overlooked in cinematography and production design. It did look spectacular.
  2. I approve Delpy and Hawkins. And I'll definitely see Drug War now. No Bullock, Dench AND Thompson in best actress is pretty surprising, and Greengrass continues to get snubbed.
  3. Well Blanchett has won every award so far, except for National Board of Review and Gotham Independent Film award
  4. 1. A History of Violence 2. Sin City 3. The Dark Knight 4. V for Vendetta 5. Batman Returns 6. Superman 7. Batman (1966) 8. Spider-Man 2 9. Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World 10. Watchmen
  5. Filth was pretty uneven (this Baird guy is no Boyle, no matter how much he'd like to be), but McAvoy fucking rocked it. Completely deserves whatever awards/nominations are gonna come his way.
  6. You mind telling me where the fuck you come off replying in quotes from '80s action movies without authorization from me? What the fuck is this all about? You wanna play some fucking bullshit cowboy poster? Go do it on somebody else's forum! I'm not takin' anymore of this shit from you. You're a good poster, and you got great potential, but you don't know every fucking thing.
  7. You don't know anything if you think of Before Midnight as a romantic comedy.
  8. Throw out Young Adult and 127 Hours, throw in Before Midnight and The Act of Killing
  9. Best Debut Director has actually become the most predictable critics' award of the season. Coogler and no one else.
  10. I have yet to see You Can Count On Me. But I noticed him immediately in Zodiac and have enjoyed his presence ever since.
  11. N Inside Llewyn Davis CBS $401,000 - 4 - $100,250 $401,000 - 1 dat PTA
  12. It was released in France after October 1. That's the deadline I believe - had it come out in September or earlier, France could've submitted it for this category.
  13. Narnia was fucking huge in 2005. I still remember how epic its trailer was. Me and a few friends of mine were a lot more hyped up for it than for GOF, and indeed loved it much more. Even then it was incredibly impressive to see it finally crawl over GOF's domestic total two or three months after it opened.
  14. Nah, I didn't catch it when it first appeared and then it kind of went off my radar. Thanks for reminding me. I gotta see 4 Months, 3 Weeks 2 Days one of these days as well.
  15. Act of Killing got in here too? Well, great
  16. Wadjda is a very good and extremely likable movie, I wouldn't be at all surprised - or displeased - if it won. All the others also look like no-brainers on paper, although I'd expect The Great Beauty to sneak in there. Or is that not eligible? Fuck Broken Circle Breakdown, though. Seriously.
  17. Saw The Broken Circle Breakdown a few days ago. Couldn't stand it. Shallow overwrought melodrama trying to pass itself off as tragedy. Blancanieves was pretty good, but slight and not deserving of major awards like this. I'm gonna guess either Blue or The Great Beauty takes the top prize. Also, I'd dig it if Jude Law won for AK. His is easily the best performance in the movie.
