  1. In light of some doubts about this movie having a shot at 1 billion.
  2. FB basically goes head to head against Moana this weekend in China, how will that work out for both films?
  3. Agreed, that's why I think the split will push towards 30:70 instead of 34:66 like now.
  4. Looks like 75 DOM + 143 OS for a 218 WW OW ..... not really good for a 5-film planned series even if it hits 2.75x DOM multiplier with consistent 34:66 split, it will only get to 206 DOM and 607 WW 30:70 split brings WW to 687.5 WW (which will be beaten by Doctor Strange anyway)
  5. Right on Sir, 580-610 mil WW is where see FB is heading now. Sub-200 DOM. Unless it has superb Sat & Sun.
  6. boxofficepro revised their DOM long range forecast to 300 mil that is dangerously flirting with 1 bil WW
  7. Looks good (I think) in OS, but definitely not so in DOM. This will open below Strange, maybe even below tracking (75 mil). Have to do that numbers game again.
  8. Playing the numbers game again, based the likely 90 mil OW. Reviews are not stellar, but good enough. Have some time before Rogue One. 2.65 multiplier leads to 238.5 mil DOM. 32:68 split gives 745 mil WW
  9. Playing with numbers, the gloomy or moderate version (depends on who you ask). It opens with 76 mil, right about target. Then the good but not great reviews and WOM gives it a 2.6x multiplier, ending DOM with 197.6 mil. Asia loves it, but Europe not so much, and then there's that ER thing. A 32:68 splits gives 617.5 mil WW.
  10. Thank you for reporting Indonesia numbers! In terms of admission, that is about 181k tickets sold. A huge opening as I expected, Wednesday night looked like a weekend because of the crowd. Indonesia only have less than 1200 screens, so 690 is pretty dominant.
  11. Playing with numbers. Opens with 85 mil, overperforming. Frontloaded like the last 2 HP films, 2.4x multiplier. 204 mil domestic. 30:70 split, 680 mil worldwide. Opens with 85 mil, overperforming. Leggy with a 2.9x multiplier, 246.5 mil domestic. 30:70 split, 822 mil worldwide. Massively overperforming due to curiosity, 95 mil OW. Frontloaded with 2.4x multiplier, 228 mil domestic. 30:70 split, 760 mil worldwide.
  12. forgot the link http://variety.com/2016/film/news/guardians-of-the-galaxy-avengers-infinity-war-vin-diesel-1201841294/
  13. Vin Diesel said: “Now, the Guardians will be included in Avengers: Infinity War and that’s incredibly exciting," he told his fans. "You were told before everybody.”
  14. I can't see the movie tomorrow or this weekend, and have to delay until Monday soonest. However I can see that the demand is pretty high. Presale has opened, and I took a peek at one of the busiest, XXI Kota Kasablanka. They have it at studio 4, that's the best one, equipped with 3D HFR when Hobbit 1 came to town. Best seats are already taken, about 40% sold.
  15. Indonesia as of 14 November: 7.2 million dollars, about 2.7 million tickets sold. Doctor Strange has passed Deadpool (7.03 million) and actually has a chance of passing Suicide Squad (7.3 million). Unfortunately tomorrow most of the screens will be given to Fantastic Beasts.
  16. I was planning to see this on Wednesday, the regular opening day here. But then things came up and had to delay until Monday. Damn.
  17. Great early reviews! https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/fantastic_beasts_and_where_to_find_them 100% from 10 reviews

Cracking 700 mil, yes, maybe even 800. Game on, Fantastic Beasts!
  19. http://fortune.com/2014/10/29/olx-emerging-markets/ It's quite an international company, actually. In Indonesia, OLX bought two local startups tokobagus.com and berniaga.com, eventually merging them and rebranded them to olx.co.id
  20. Indonesian translation of Valerian comics. I have fond memories of them ...... hoping that the movie will be good. Please don't be like Lucy.
  21. I think the worse Strange could do is get a 2.75x DOM multiplier, ending in 233.75 mil domestic. And then it got clipped a bit in OS by FB, getting a 35:65 split (it is now 30:70) and go towards 667 million worldwide. Better holds and/or better splits would lead to the 750-850 mil worldwide figure that Deadline was talking about. I just wonder how much better.
  22. Deadline says Strange will finish 750-850 million worldwide. That's very high! Can somebody run the numbers and verify, please?
