Joker's success is proof that rated R isn't dead. Give people something worthwhile and you can put butts in seats. Yes, it loses the kids audience but there are 3-4 new kids movies every weekend. They aren't hurting for options.
Aquaman is better than a lot superhero movies. Most of these aren't reinventing the wheel. Black Panther, Thor, Aquaman all have very similar plots and it's a plot that predates most forms of entertainment.
Wan brought a vision to his that is far superior to most. Its visually stunning.
I've noticed he has preferences and they lean towards the 'Fanboy War' thread. Sometimes it's not what you say but how you say it. We all have preferences though and that's fine. That said his numbers are appreciated.
Since these are now "verified" I still don't know what it means if anything. Probably nothing but it's starting out at 93% audience score on RT with over 1,000 ratings.
Hustlers hold looks average to me. There is literally nothing else hitting the demo. It's a win all around but certainly not the juggernaut it's been made out to be.
I wish I was making this up but there are people out there who are mad because this wasn't a raunchy Rated R stripper romp (i.e. nudity all of the place).
Yes, they could have made a film like that but would it have been as good or as successful? Probably not in all honesty. I don't think it would have put more asses in seats. It would have put more asses on Pornhub awaiting the leaks.
Because people don't want to see something new. They just want to bring their kids to something so they'll shut up for two hours. Hey, it's true that's how most parents are these days.
