  1. Shawn Levy and sauce in the same sentence is something odd.
  2. Tbh put Madame Web on May 17th and Garfield on February 16th and the two do slightly better.
  3. Also a fifteen year putting more effort into its social media marketing than Dreamworks was another red flag. Also, as I take a Twitter hiatus for my mental well being I learned Ruby Gillman has a fanbase there and a very weird one.
  4. Yeah so long as Dragon moves, think Elio should be able to do Brave/Wall-E numbers. The IO2 breakout and Elemental putting in groundwork has set it up nicely. I really hope Pixar doesn’t use AI from not just an artistic point of view but for sake of workers. I don’t expect them to use generative AI, at absolute worst it’ll be something like Elemental’s fire effects iirc but I’m sad the employees got fired for what was essentially the fault of Chapek and Iger in sending the Pixar plus trio to the Plus devaluing the brand.
  5. What kind of five day do you think for this movie?
  6. IO2 has it pretty much locked, still looking at $650m domestic and somewhere between $1.4-1.5B. Nothing can beat it WW. Though I highly doubt it due to ticket sales ($150-180m seems more realistic for OW rn), if DP3 opens on the higher end of the Quorum range ($240m), it should top it domestic but even then wouldn’t have the juice to get their WW likely tapping out around $1.35b. A more realistic prediction rn is $165m/$450m/$1.03b. Only other contenders are Joker 2 and Moana 2, which would need crazy jumps in order to get there.
  7. I highly doubt IO2 would have touched $180m OW pre pandemic even with ticket price inflation. Imho, it’s doing the best case scenario both pre and post pandemic.
  8. @cayommagazine Endless Animation has greenlight two movies to go into production over the next few years: A sequel to Endless Animation's The Valkyries vs The Galaxy has been announced. One of the directors, Jennifer Kluska (DC Superhero Girls, The Valkyries vs The Galaxy) will be returning as Stephanie Ma Stine (Kung Fu Panda 4, Dreamworks' She-Ra) will also direct the project replacing Ian Jones-Quartery (Matilda and the Night Children, The Valkyries vs The Galaxy) who is working on another project for Endless Animation. Danny Antonucci (Ed Edd 'n' Eddy's Scamatic Reboot) is working on an R-rated stop-motion animated project. Details are scarce but said to be an entirely original project and also stated to be a hybrid animated style, using hand-drawn animated techniques prominently.
  9. The Black Panther movies don’t get a lot of credit at least not from the MCU fans or cinephiles for actually engaging and tackling its themes well but still be digestible for the main audience. Kind of like Barbie and feminism, sure its baseline feminism from one point of view but actually analyzes and engages with the material in a thoughtful way for a mainstream blockbuster.
  10. Nah, that scene was great and realistic. Thats happens stateside to a lot of prominent black figures. They arrested Coogler from “taking too much money” at the bank.
  11. It’s one of the decisions of the MCU that really gets me mad is not having an alt-right John Walker because Disney and Feige are too spineless to tackle that (on a side note, when they do Young Avengers, Wiccan will be the only gay member and his love interest will be some random guy they can easily cut to appease China - I don’t think we’ll ever get Wiccan and Hulkling). Same for how they go out of their way to say Hydra isn’t Nazis, because it makes it harder to sell toys. Falcon and the Winter Soldier’s “both sides” approach is such a bummer coming off of Coogler’s Black Panther series but then again the Cap series have always been kind of a mixed bag at handling political themes.
  12. No way a Deadpool sniffs $1.4-1.5B due to the R rating. Best case scenario even with a DOM overperformance to get it to IO2 heights, it’ll likely end around 1.4B.
  13. On one hand, it’s WorldofReel. On the other hand, yikes if true. Don’t think it’ll be that big but can see upper 200s.
  14. Tbh if Elemental could do 155/500 with like the worst possible conditions and Soul, Luca, and Turning Red were not only better recieved but bigger streaming hits, makes me think they’d could have done numbers.
  15. I don’t think any of those franchise movies even The Rise of Skywalker, Minions 1 or any superhero IP within the past ten years was as bad a movie as Ice Age: Collision Course.
  16. I regret mentioning the possibility. People were curious about an IA6 which likely shouldn’t happen and I said a remake was more plausible and even then don’t think it’d happen or will it make money. Thats my bad lol. I prefer RidingInsides.
  17. Certified Lover Boy, Certified Pachyderm
  18. By $2m dollars after having sharp falls from the fourth one. No one cares about the Ice Age franchise anymore.
  19. Chris Melandandri shepherded the first two Ice Age movies when he was running Fox Animation in the 2000s. Cinco Paul/Ken Daurio and Chris Renaud who pioneered the DM franchise started off at Blue Sky. The Ice Age movies are quite literally the Despicable Me blueprint in terms of tone:
  20. I imagine if we see another theatrical Ice Age, it’ll be a live action remake versus WDA/Pixar doing it or even outsourcing.
