  1. This is the big test as we’ll likely get more reactions tonight. It also seems to be for the press critics as isn’t that dude from Variety. If reactions are good tonight and indicate good reviews, feel confident in 200m for Wish.
  2. I’m curious. What are your box office prediction for Deadpool and those four? Just shot in the dark early guesstimates.
  3. I’m not saying they need to keep the budget down, I’m just more or less predicting what will happen. They’re cutting three sequences and reportedly major reshoots for multiple scenes from January to May. Just guessing they may try a few cameos. Think the problem of production dilemmas could’ve easily been avoidable if they stopped production for this during the writers strike.
  4. You got to remember with rebates, these tentpoles are actually a lot more expensive. If The Marvels was 250m without reshoots, I can easily seeing it pushing 300m if it came to it due to Red Hulk being a motion capture character.
  5. Nah they need it. Helps with promotion of DP3, likely can do a fan screening and really push the stuff for the upcoming phase (will basically act as a mini apology for quality control). You announce Cap 4 is psuedo avengers and get the trailer out, a look at F4 to keep the nerds creaming, and then announce a new Avengers roster.
  6. Like make no mistake, budget is definitely going 275-300m and unless there’s a big Avenger like Hulk, I don’t think it’ll be too profitable but it deserves to be released because it’s fucked up to work hard on something and have it not even be seen because an executive wanted to save a few bucks. It’s fucking hard to make movies.
  7. Who knew the guy who made the bad third Cloverfield fumbled the ball? Honestly think they’ll retool it to a pseudo Avengers flick. They’ll bring in Bruce, Jen and maybe Shang-Chi as those who help Sam fight The Leader and Red Hulk. Guessing Feige’s gambit is that Levy and Reynolds deliver the NWH nostalgia piece that Deadpool will be is enough to get the nerds to start creaming over them again and in conjunction with a strong Comic-Con presence, will hopefully carry out the goodwill into 2025. That said, think they shouldn’t be doing 4 films that year especially with content glut.
  8. SpiderVerse probably isn’t near ready animation wise. Can see Disney bunting Mufasa or Cap 4 there. Despicable Me 4 if needed could go there but thats about it.
  9. Still think Cap 4 has a higher ceiling than both as I do think Hulk stuff in general is a sell, even if it’s just a Red Hulk and proto-Avengers being made. It also doesn’t really need to worry about Plus setup like Marvels and TBolts too. Think 85/210/500 on the high end.
  10. Tbh the best comparison is CG animation for the past 17 years. At first, if it was CG animated - guaranteed hit but then 2006 happened and the content dramatically increased as well as shows and only like 3 of the movies truly succeeded (Happy Feet, Cars, Over The Hedge).
  11. THG doing 60-70m next weekend might be enough to halt those articles. Also Wish and Trolls seem like solid candidates for mid 100s domestic.
  12. I don’t think Kamala should be shipped with Monica or Carol as in that universe she’s a minor.
  13. Even then romance isn’t something Marvel did well with, it’s been a common complaint since the beginning. Like apart from Wanda and Vision, Star Lord and Gamora, and maybe Steve and Peggy, there wasn’t much there. Even something big like Peter x MJ doesn’t work because Feige and Pascal are too focused on the ramifications of Peter being in the MCU than developing the world and people around Peter.
  14. Gil Kenan did, who wrote Afterlife. That’s an era on my behalf.
  15. I’d rather not rush Doom. Dude has the potential to be a Saga villain not just a FF villain.
  16. Because nostalgia is all they have to stand on. A CGI Egon is fundamentally cheap and kind of disrespectful just as the CGI West and Reeve in The Flash. I’m 23 and never gave a shit about Ghostbusters apart from the first one, there’s nothing really for me. Men In Black 1 does the SNL comedy and tentpole spectacle mix better than the first Ghostbusters. It’s not scary enough to be cool which is a shame because I dug Monster House growing up and it’s from the same director, and it’s not funny enough to stand out. More effort is on the legacy than anything else, it’s just lazy.
