  1. https://www.thewrap.com/deadpool-3-release-date-may-2024-shawn-levy-interview/ This isn't making May 2024. I think that’s pretty obvious now.
  2. Think both could get more showings in the weeks leading up to release date. Especially because both are still very early. What is the right number of screens for an animated movie to reach 50m OW or five day?
  3. My thoughts exactly give it to me all at once or wait until release. However, everything is riding on Wish from Disney in particular, their relevancy as not just an animation studio but their relevancy at the box office. Think this is the right move to do and hopefully a song catches on.
  4. Trolls Band Together tickets are popping up at Marcus Theatres near me. It's more or less getting the same treatment as Wish with 3D split and no PLF sharing. Previews start at 2:00 pm lol
  5. I mean we do this all the time for a variety of films. I don’t get what the big deal is. I still think Brave New World can do relatively well, as I do think there’s actual anticipation behind that one, and has Hulk stuff and DP3 will probably do around 400/900 DOM/WW even if it’s ass. It’s clear this year that the MCU name can’t sell everything and I have no reason to believe there’s anything special about Thunderbolts.
  6. That’s honestly what it seems like. Sentry and the writers probably make me think there’ll be themes on mental health, and maybe how the US failed soldiers’ mental health after the war but I think the powerset for the antiheroes seem uninteresting to the GA. There’s a few villains while not household names would add to the powerset, and could help the narrative. Mordo would be a fun addition, as could bringing back Hammer. As of right now, I think it’ll do about the same as The Marvels and probably be one of the lowest grossing MCU films.
  7. Will note I haven’t read the book but this is a quote from the author: It’s MTTSH so it’s fifty fifty on accuracy but I believe the author said this on a podcast recently. Either way I think the endgame with Secret Wars from the inception was always some form of soft reboot as that’s the easiest way to explain the X-Men and gives Feige all his Marvel toys to play in one toolbox.
  8. Shakman said that the cast is ready to go and will announce them after the strike, F4 has or at least is closer to a complete script - with Kunis being friends with Shakman knowing the cast and F4 has a higher ceiling Blade ever did.
  9. Deadpool is more so due to legacy and even Feige knows making a PG-13 Deadpool would be the end of him. Feige has said a lot of things about things being more brutal but didn’t pan out, remember Moon Knight. George Miller’s Justice League was also to start filming during a strike. Different circumstances but it wouldn’t be surprising.
  10. Yeah, I don’t buy Blade being R unless I see it being officially rated by the MPA. Also where are you getting that sets are being built/are built? I am not really using Marvels as a barometer but more so the reception of Phase 4/5 as a whole and Blade never really being that big.
  11. As for the film axing thing, Thunderbolts feels too far in development to axe. Blade, I can see being pushed to the next saga or MCU reboot though. Maybe it gets reborn as sort of an Elseworld type story.
  12. I don’t get the appeal in this one. It feels too similar to the Suicide Squad movies and the powerset is mainly supersoldiers, Ghost and a Superman-expy. So there’s no diverse or creative powerset to set it apart. Unless it’s out of the world good, I don’t see why this would do strongly.
  13. No shit. Though I do think the reboot could go harder if the rest of the non-Deadpool films don’t do well enough. They can easily write in some BS about F4 winding up in the new MCU and debuting X-Men in the new saga.
  14. Why can SamCap? If anything that seems like the safest bet of the non DP3 choices.
  15. Tbh if they wanted to build Kang up. Why not end Phase 4 with an Avengers movie facing him? Have him get his ass handed maybe he teams up with an impromptu Masters of Evil, the new faces of the MCU are shown but we are given something the MCU hasn’t had aside from Loki and Thanos - a reoccurring villain. The appeal of Kang is that he literally has time to win. He fucks up due to one thing, he comes back next time with a bigger weapon or better plot. So when he gets his big win, he earns the title of Kang the Conqueror.
  16. No trailers being ready for KFP4 and Snow White seem odd especially with big tie-ins around the corner. Can see KFP4 taking DM4 spot, and DM4 going to the holidays, and Snow White being the May kickoff.
  17. “…Marvel is making concrete changes in how it makes TV. It now has plans to hire showrunners. Gao’s postproduction work on She-Hulk helped Marvel see that it would be helpful for its shows to have a creative throughline from start to finish” She-Hulk nation wins! Will say this, it’s telling Moon Girl, a Disney Channel children cartoon was Marvel’s best show since 2015 Daredevil because it had clear showrunners, and people who actually knew the TV medium and was an actual tv show and not a 6-9 episode event.
  18. Think a Strange 3 or Panther 3 can do it with ease, so could an Avengers movie. The best chance out of the gap from now until SM4 assuming that’s July 2025, would be Cap 4 and Fantastic Four but those feel more like 75-90m openers.
