They really need some people with powers and not just assassins and super soldiers. Sentry and Ghost are the only two with powers and I don’t know think they can fight evil Superman well. Throw in Red Hulk, Mysterio (cause he’s obviously still alive), Mordo (he hasn’t add anything to do), the bad guy from The Marvels, etc. They need to look different than Marvel’s Suicide Squad.

Tbh The Marvels has a more uphill battle in understanding on who is in there from streaming. Kamala and Monica just appear out of nowhere to the blind eye whereas Endgame and Black Widow introduced the eyes of Falcon being Captain America with old man Steve giving him the Shield and Yelena living up to Natasha’s legacy. Apart for Isaiah Bradley and Val, I don’t think any show characters from the show returning and they can be explained via exposition and don’t have powers to confuse.

I think both will be movies that work on legs rather than OW. What’s Thunderbolts hook aside from the Marvel brand and I think Winter Soldier numbers especially with a new Cap even with all the Hulk stuff is more comparable for Brave New World. The audience is definitely getting more pick and choosy with Marvel stuff especially when I think these two are more likely to play as new Marvel stuff instead of sequels.

Actually more in the ballpark of 90m but I think Pixar and Disney needs to find a way to keep budgets down for their originals at least for the time being. DWA are based in Glendale and tend to bat at 90-135m a piece, and the only way for Pixar to get there is to cut pay, use cheaper software and jobs unfortunately.

Like I chalk up a lot of different factors why Elemental is failing: the Disney+ factor training audiences to wait especially for Pixar, original IP being a harder sell now, mid reviews for a Pixar movie being the death knell, not appealing enough to the GA and pretty bad marketing (Unlike Lightyear and Strange World this had presence but it wasn’t good enough to get butts into seats), but it’s up to those two films. Elio had a decent teaser as it’s somewhat reminiscent to classic Pixar adventure but I think they should consider moving it because Pixar originals aren’t threats anymore. Wish is a traditional big Disney musical with an aesthetic blending Disney’s usual style with the popular SpiderVerse aesthetic. I still think if it has strong reviews it’ll do okay but with Disney family stuff underperforming and Trolls 3 just five days before it, it has a very uphill battle. Migration has the Illumination brand and looks like dumb family fun and doesn’t need to be good to succeed just entertaining. Though with Wonka and Aquaman being prime choices, is that enough for it to live.

Is it possible it overindexed in some places or maybe had a higher ATP than expected? -

Disney/Pixar’s Elemental started previews at 3PM tonight and box office sources peg that pic’s Thursday night at around $3.5M. How?! -
