  1. I imagine whoever MGM would partner with to distribute would get the domestic and most of the OS rights, it does vary from film to film.
  2. I think a $30-35m, maybe $40m at a push would be realistic for Bill and Ted 3, visual effects have come a long way and you could do it relatively cheaply and I imagine Keanu would take a pay cut to make the budget work
  3. I'm sure MGM with another studio distributing and/or co-funding would be up for it if the budget was right.
  4. Who has the Bill and Ted rights? Orion distributed it originally so I'm guessing it's MGM.
  5. I loved Side by Side, the documentary he made a few years back. I'm guessing John Wick is the half way between his indie projects and more mainstream blockbusters. He's made so much money from The Matrix trilogy alone that he could do indie films for the rest of his career. A Sandra Bullock/Keanu reunion in a comedy would be great, they've done action and a romantic film so a comedy seems the logical third film for them to do or maybe Sandy could play a female assassin in John Wick 3!
  6. I don't think he's a bad actor but he needs the right role, I'd love to see him do a comedy again but I doubt he's interested.
  7. I imagine John Wick 2 will get released in Australia but not until March. Warner Bros is distributing it in the UK and released next week so it's swings and roundabout. Australia got The Founder early whereas most places didn't get it until now for example.
  8. Good for Fifty Shades, I imagine it's very frontloaded though.
  9. The humour works but I do think it's a little rapid fire, Storks the previous WAG film had tons of gags but not at the rate Lego Batman had
  10. I think WAG probably will have second thoughts keeping Smallfoot in February next year
  11. I think Ninjago should do solid business, there's no real competition apart from My Little Pony which I'm not expecting to do big numbers. I think $35-40m should be the aim
  12. I imagine it'll have a very good drop next week, $55-60m OW for an animated film is still great, other studios would be satisfied with that number
  13. Blank is having a meltdown and cannastop is showing stuff from Zootopia....
  14. $57-60m is a good number for an animated film even a spin-off like Lego Batman. Most animated studios would be thrilled if their film hit that number.
  15. WAG films are $70-80m which is comparable to Illumination, SPA etc so Lego Batman is going to make profit likewise with Ninjago. Considering Storks only made $182m WW in comparison Lego Batman will make from just domestic alone.
  16. Not to mention WDAS, Pixar and Illumination are pretty much established whereas Warner Animation Group even with the success of The Lego Movie is not at that level yet, it's doing numbers which most other studios like Blue Sky, Sony and Paramount would be more than happy with for an animated film and given its budget, its going to make a healthy return for Warner Bros
  17. It's How To Train Your Dragon 2 all over again although that was a sequel rather than a spin-off. I think most people's expectations were in check this time for Lego Batman,
  18. Minions did over $100m OW but that was a spin-off to a huge franchise, The Lego Movie was a hit but not on the level of DM.
  19. Only in Blanks eyes, I think it's great considering it's a spin-off and it's from a studio that isn't on the same level as WDAS, Pixar or Illumination,
  20. Spin-offs have a mixed track record, they can hit big like Minions or do terrible business like Penguins of Madagascar, I'm sure WB are thrilled with Lego Batman's numbers so far.
  21. Ninjago won't do close to $250m, If it does similar figures to HT and HT2, WB/WAG will be more than thrilled.
  22. $20-21 OD for Lego Batman would mean a $76-77m OW if it follows Zootopia, $80m might be doable as well if it increases bigger tomorrow.
