So Timmy can finally talk about his Willy... Wonka

DP3 is the only MCU in 2024, but Fant4stic, Cap 4, Blade, Thunderbolts, and (probably) Spider-Man 4 in 2025?
I'd wager more delays are coming.
I'm not sure Sony would be able to find a good slot for a Spiderman film in 2025, I imagine they'd opt for 2026 instead

👏I👏FUCKING👏 CALLED 👏 IT
Almost half a year of reshoots sounds pretty brutal, and almost Josstice-tier. But hey, if it actually fixes the movie, then so be it. This is the good thing about The Marvels bombing. It will be the wakeup call Marvel needs to get back on track. Focusing solely on Deadpool 3 for next year and otherwise laying low until this movie in 2025 is the smartest decision they've made in a while. Hoping for the best!
You really need to stop using Josstice League for any sort of reshoots, you said about Mission Impossible as well and making uncalled comments about Simon Pegg

Any guesses what might take the now vacated May 3rd slot? My guess is Sony moves Madame Web or moves up Kraven,
The other option is Disney moves up KOTPOTA three weeks so it doesn't clash with Furiosa

People who think this can't make summer 2024 forget that Mission Impossible Rogue Nation was pushed up five months and they managed to get it completed by the skin of their teeth,

I wonder how many strike related jokes the SNL writer had to throw out from the monologues?

I'm impressed how quickly actors have been able to booked for shows. Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson are on The Tonight Show tonight!
I would imagine Graham Norton is glad he can book Hollywood guests, he's had to make do with British actors and personalities for the last month or so.

I wouldn’t go that far…yet.
Frozen literally had zero competion until February. Zootopia just resonated to kids and adults alike with its political and relevant theme whereas The Lion King is just a once in a lifetime phenomenon.
This has Wonka and Migration pulling the family audience by December, plus Trolls is also there. But this definitely looks primed to succeed, hopefully.
Trolls didn't get great reviews and it's not like it's a Shrek or KFP.

Jesus Christ, there are more words or expressions for cynical people than just fucking Eeyor, and your complaining about it all the time makes you just as bad as them
I would point out Eeyore isn't cynical, he's a pessimistic which isn't the same thing.
It's not a good look to swear either.

I think stupidity has entered the building, Black Panther needed a white co-lead is the dumbest thing I've read in a very long time and I've seen dumb things.

TBH even though this is currently a one and done film. Lionsgate will likely still want more Hunger Games content either for film or TV.
-
I do think the Eeyore mentality surrounding Marvel Studios is grating at best and borderline delusional at worse. If Pixar and WDAS can survive blips then so can Marvel Studios. It's not like Disney will fire Kevin Feige and close it down.

Kraven is doomed no matter where it is scheduled but from Sony's POV, they'd be better releasing it in earlier than later.

Except WB did it with malicious intent in the beginning lol it just semi-backfired on them lol
I mean if that's backfiring then it worked out very well for them.

I would imagine the SAG contract is going to be a template for other unions such as IATSE although the demands of crew is different from writers and actors since there isn't revenue streams involved.
British Equity did suggest they were willing to strike next year but given British Equity has a much better relationship with the media companies such as the BBC, it's unlikely but also it's much harder to go on strike since you need a 50% majority and it's done by postal votes.

Honestly, anyone who wrote Pixar's obituary a few months back is in for a rude awakening with IO2.

I wonder if the incursions in the MCU is how Deadpool ends up there?

Wouldn’t anxiety fall under the fear umbrella?
Anxiety isn't the same as fear though so I wonder if that's going to explored.

I'm not entirely sure Despicable Me is making its July date considering Kung Fu Panda is still set for March and clearly isn't making that date (less than 4 months away and zero promotion efforts). Unless that's punting away from March all the way to the holidays or something.
The Illumination films are usually set in stone in terms of rewrites and TBH I can't imagine voice work takes much time and usually it's done way in advance.
I think they are more willing to sacrifice KFP4 to a later date over DM4.

It's interesting that Sonic 3 wasn't mentioned, I would guess that the live action bits are not too difficult to film so can be done fairly quickly plus I think they've already done most of the VFX bits. They could shoot it in the Spring and be ready for December

If Comcast buys Warner, he can play with both Universal & Warner under the same roof. LolComcast won't buy WB, that's an anti competition suit waiting to happen.
I think a joint Universal/WB Nolan film is likely.

When they moved it up from November, that was a complete surprise. Disney must have been very happy with the script to move it up.
I know certain Eeyores think this is doomed but Deadpool is very different from the MCU fare and I imagine his entry into the franchise is going to be a breath of fresh air.

SpiderVerse probably isn’t near ready animation wise. Can see Disney bunting Mufasa or Cap 4 there. Despicable Me 4 if needed could go there but thats about it.
Mufasa I think will move mostly because I think they want to avoid DM4 plus December is fairly empty.

I mean if you’re doing Blade for $100 million with Mahershala Ali that’s doing both. Not every character is right for a lower budget film, but Shang-Chi really doesn’t need to end with a giant kaiju battle. I think most would agree that’s the weakest part of that movie. Black Widow doesn’t need a floating fortress in its third act. Smaller budgets could spur more innovative storytelling instead of relying on empty spectacle.
(On a side note, budgets will naturally decrease with loosening COVID protocols which have inflated budgets at least 15% for all the big films this year. Of course, many budgets for 2024/2025 will be inflated by strike delays).
Making a movie look cheap can harm a film as well. FF and X-Men can't done on the cheap either.

I find it strange Marvel wants to keep February rather than be flexible with Spring releases. Blade in November seems weird but I guess The Batman Part II is the reason why they're not releasing it in either September or October.
