    It was. Lol.

Thought the purple glowing fruit that let your soul cross over was a big clue.

As it turns out, the Black Panther movie does not include an Infinity Stone.

Here’s what Coogler said when we asked him why Black Panther didn’t feature an Infinity Stone.

“I love the Infinity Stones as much as any comic book fan, it’s just Wakanda already has its thing, which is Vibranium. For us, that was special enough, so to throw in something like another special thing didn’t feel right. It felt like we should stick with our one MacGuffin for the country and explore that, let that be the important thing because, frankly we didn’t need to have another piece like that,” Coogler explained, adding, “[Marvel Studios] never really was interested in putting a stone in there, either.”

Certainly looked way better than it looks in the relevant yt video.

I avoided all clips and tv spots so I finally saw the one of the fight after I'd seen the film, and it definitely looks very videogame-y there, but that's YouTube for you. That's why it's silly to judge that kind of thing from shittily compressed online videos instead of the real deal.

Is Shuri and Bucky scene implied romance or just a regular scene?

    Just a regular scene.

I guess I'm the only one who didn't think the VFX looked bad in the final fight? It was fine to me, I had no problem with it.

Shuri was definitely a highlight though, and her relationship with T'Challa was great. I loved it when she got him to kick the suit the second time and he went flinging back, and then you just hear him tell her to delete that footage, it got a big laugh.

And speaking of reactions, when Killmonger killed that Dora Milaje someone behind and to the left of us gasped so damn loud, so you could tell they were obviously into it. And everyone laughed at all the coloniser/white people jokes, so they were also well done. I also liked how they called Bucky "White wolf" at the end, and how he was referenced earlier in the film when Shuri remarked that Ross was another white boy for them to fix. :D The rhino charging Okoye and then stopping and licking her face also got a good response.

It's a pity Killmonger died, it could've been cool to maybe see him be redeemed, but it was in character for him to rather die than get locked up.

That should put TLJ just past Thor, but not in time to win the calendar year.

    Correct.

Taika Waititi's Thor: Ragnarok has held off Star Wars to claim victory at the New Zealand box office for 2017.

Waititi's superhero flick made more money in New Zealand cinemas than any other film in the calendar year, according to the Motion Picture Distributors Association.

Thor: Ragnarok earned $7,027,051 in 2017. On New Year's Eve, Star Wars: The Last Jedi lagged half a million behind at $6,587,211.

Ofc its playing to familys. Jumanji otoh is playing almost only to familys.

TLJ also isnt as kid-friendly as TFA, so many familys who watched TLJ may dont go a 2nd time but choose Jumanji instead as it is pretty much the only film in this entire December holiday season besides Coco and Ferdinand that targets familys. Also, the runtime of 2 1/2 hours is hurting TLJ a bit, not only in the showings available, but kids often cant just sit still for nearly 3 hours. Parents know that.

So damn true and I wish all parents knew this or thought about it before bringing their children. When I went to a showing for it last week a kid sitting behind me a few seats over was kicking my row a bit several times throughout and it eventually escalated into him putting his legs over the back of the seat and flailing them about while he sat on his father's lap. Then he started kicking my row again and I had to get up and ask him to stop kicking my seat. He stopped for the most part after that, but still did it a couple of times again but not as badly. But then I saw it again today in IMAX and a kid so small I couldn't even see the top of his head over the seat in front of me was quiet the whole time, so it does depend on the child.

Also Thor was definitively over JL this weekend by the looks of it. They said that last weekend, but the actuals came in a bit lower for Thor which put it a tad under.

Thor is also excruciatingly close to $7,000,000. If my math is right, it is currently sitting at $6,997,600.

    It's passed $7M now.

$7,003,453 as per MPDA NZ. :hi5:

  7. Just saw it and it was ehhh. Watchable with some decent moments, but the songs weren't as good as the first and second films. None of the PP movies are particularly great, but I like the second one the most between the music choices and the storyline, as I enjoyed their rivalry with Das Sound Machine. It also definitely felt shorter than the others too.

But holy shit at a certain actor's attempt at an Australian accent. It was hilariously all over the place so at least that was semi-entertaining, if slightly ear-bleed inducing.
