  1. It sounds like the problem is with you rather than Marvel. Forced cringy comedy? All they do is turn to comedy? Sweeping generalizations that aren't constructive is something I'm used to reading particularly when it comes to the MCU. Never mind how well the second Thor Ragnarok trailer did in terms of reception and views, never mind how critically and financially successful Marvel has been particularly with Phase 3.
  2. Good for them but not in any way what I am looking for or need with this movie. I want to see Waititi's version of Ragnarok, not the comics version or a wannabe Lord of the Rings.
  3. Couldn't disagree more. It's absolutely the right tone for this movie, to embrace the weirdness and ridiculousness of it all. Like Guardians of the Galaxy, I expect the emotional component to be in the movie itself, not in the previews. Movies like this, never are.
  4. Agreed. While the trailer views are not guarantees, what shouldn't be dismissed is the buzz the movie has nevertheless generated.
  5. No, but it isn't all bad either. Spider-Man Homecoming even with that drop has already surpassed the domestic gross of the Amazing Spider-Man 2 and will pass the domestic gross of the Amazing Spider-Man as well. Since the first Spider-Man movie in 2002, the domestic gross of each subsequent movie has gone down. Homecoming stopped that streak. Marvel Studios has just started turning things around but it won't happen all at once. It's just the start, not the finish line.
  6. I was never expecting a big domestic take from Spider-Man (at least not $400 million big) but overseas with a much better received movie, I do expect an improved OS number. Spider-Man has always been popular internationally and with a great movie...well the numbers I think will be there.
  7. I don't remember Zod being very willing to lose that ship either but it didn't stop it from happening. Besides, it's not about Zod, it's about Superman. Like I said, he never made any conscious effort to try to get Zod away from the people. He didn't try any more than he tried to stop that truck. And given that the people were the ones the most at risk, he could have at least done that. It doesn't matter if Superman has only been in costume for a day or a thousand, the best qualities of his character need to be on show when it matters the most and in that fight, they weren't.
  8. No, they complained that during Superman's enormously destructive fight with Zod, he never made any conscious effort to try to get Zod away from the people. This was also illustrated in the scene where Zod kicks a gas truck at Superman and rather than stop it or even make the attempt to, he almost lazily jumps in between them and lets it slide right into a building causing unneccessary destruction. Batman v Superman took the wrong message from the complaints. Just like they did when Mrs. Snyder said more or less said that people don't want their heroes deconstructed.
  9. Personally I couldn't care less. I remember some time back when they announced that every episode of the second season of Jessica Jones was going to be directed by only women. That got some guys upset too. But it passed. This will too.
  10. Many people thought it cross a billion easily no matter what just based on the popularity of the characters, not to mention it was the first time ever Batman and Superman were meeting in a live action movie.
