  1. That’s a good idea too but I think a Marauders story would immediately draw more interest because of their direct relationship to the HP characters
  2. I’ve sort of been thinking about this and I think people are underestimating the draw of Hogwarts in HP movies. There’s a reason the final battle in DH2 returns there and why we’ve gone back there with young hot Dumbledore now in FB. There’s just something about magical boarding school in a beautiful castle that feeds peoples imaginations. The rest of the wizarding world isn’t drawn as well as Hogwarts (like Diagon Alley is always funny to me because there’s just one street in the whole of the wizarding world where you can buy your schoolbooks? lol) This is all just a long way of saying a Marauders prequel that maps Voldemort’s first rise to power and ends essentially where the first HP movie begins would do gang busters at the BO.
  3. Not ones who are the leads of their own movies......She is the titular Captain Marvel in Captain Marvel
  4. She is an Oscar winning actress who is also a superhero in one of Marvel's biggest hits...if she can't find a good project, then her agents need to go in the bin
  5. Why is Brie doing this lol...hasn't she had enough of mindless VFX sludge and corny dialogue from the Marvel movies Like she came up doing Short Term 12 and Room! Odd that she isn't using her Marvel $ to work on more interesting projects
  6. is Uncharted going to drag itself to $150m? it's having an incredibly solid run and is having smaller drops than almost anything else except Sing 2
  7. can't be bothered mathing right now, but that seems like a horrendous drop?
  8. I am doubtful a Sony Sinister 6 vs Spidey movie would make appreciably more than a normal Spidey movie, so Sony shouldn't expect Avengers numbers from their eventual team-up movie
  9. How is Ambulance doing so poorly? Like, is it going to open less than Snake Eyes? Mortifying Gyllenhaal is A-list and Bay still has juice left too, I don't get it
  10. I’m gonna need some clarity on which Spiderman is in the Sonyverse because the signals from the actors and execs are all over the place
  11. $5m previews should be good for a $40m OW right? Not too bad, all things considered
  12. Yikes, I just saw the same writers for Morbius are writing for Madame Web. I hate to be so facile about this but why doesn't Sony just......hire better writers lol. It's not like they're short on cash? The only things these movies have going for them is the hope that one day they will meet up with Tom's Spidey. The actors know it too with the way Jared Leto keeps hinting at a future team-up movie. I actually wonder if Tom's new contract will explicitly state he will not make a Spiderman movie without Marvel's involvement to avoid a rehash of the drama in 2019
  13. No wonder Oscar ratings are so pathetic these days lol. No one except Film Twitter have seen them
  14. Eddie Redmayne getting shunted from his own franchise is still so odd Although maybe he prefers it that way seeing as he's also disavowed JKR's nonsense
  15. Still think there's some crazy recency bias going on with Euphoria. The actors are better than say, the ones you'd find on Degrassi but I'm still skeptical of their ability to break out. It's easier to transition from tv to movies these days thanks to streaming, but these teen shows are so fleeting. There's always going to be another Netflix show around the corner that's going to eat up all the oxygen in the room. Best case scenario is Euphoria is another Skins and launches a bunch of careers, but Hollywood is far more competitive than British TV.
  16. Taylor Kitsch is the perfect example of a TV heartthrob who studios threw franchises at and where nothing stuck because he’s as bland as two wheaties I think this is Centineo and Elordi’s ultimate ceiling, not a Gosling type career lol
