  1. That's a very broad assumption. What is your knowledge of pre-historical societies that you can make it? Regardless, "a" basis. Only a fool would not concede gender-based oppression exists. The question is whether it's the root of all evil. As in, "what is the prime contradiction in society". I can think of no society where "all the men have ruled all the women", indiscriminately. The Feminist perversion of basic dialectics, and later rejection of the same, has lead us where we are today.
  2. Translation: "I live in Lund. I've been engaged in <various political organisations>. I've seen a lot of the regressive left."
  3. No, no, no. This is the very basic misunderstanding. Oppression in society is not primarily tied to gender, it's tied to class. Margaret Thatcher didn't oppress people any less than George Bush. And "mostly white men"?! If you subscribe to the viewpoint that "men oppress women" as a general statement, how can it be mostly white men? We're hardly a majority!! Have the Khanates and Caliphates been erased from history? Again, I am perfectly fine to get back to talk about the movie. I'm a DC fan. I will watch the movie, just as I have watched Suicide Squad, Batman versus Superman, etc, etc, all the way back to Batman Returns. I'm predicting a final box office of between 800m and 900m.
  4. It's simpler than that. Just stop arguing with me and I'll stop arguing with you. As to cookie: Jag bor i Lund. Jag har varit engagerad i unga örnar, vpk's ungdomsförbund, kpml(r), offensiv, etc. Jag har sett väldigt mycket regressiv vänster. /Swedish off. Permanently.
  5. I'm not saying, "you're a fascist". I'm saying that the fact the joke can even be made is a symptom of a fascist environment. If you'd swap the genders on this type of statement, nobody would accept it. Nobody would find it funny. These screenings are denying the men the right to watch these screenings. Nothing more, nothing less. It's not genocide. It's a symbolic move. I oppose this symbolic move. Clear?
  6. This is the exact mentality I can not, and will not, ever accept. Punish the people for the sins of their forefathers?! Essentially, this is fascism. It sickens me to the core.
  7. I must point out the mods are taking active part in this discussion. Exclusively on one side. I can agree to disagree. My last posts have all been either clarifying points or responses to people who have attacked me. I've even completely ignored the people attacking me for being a Marxist or trying to equate that to being a Nazi. I look forward to the Wonder Woman movie. Hoping to watch it on the premiere.
  8. I'm not "equating" that with a women-only screening. I am, however, pointing out the slippery slope. When "no men were involved in this", as in "no men work during this screening", "no men are allowed to attend this screening", becomes a selling argument, we are headed for trouble. Bringing up historical oppression is a logical fallacy. I never owned any slaves. I am aware of my factual privilege - this is, "being a citizen of Sweden, an industrialized rich country profiteering off the work of the poor nations." Being a man, however, is usually to the detriment of a Swedish citizen, in a multitude of ways.
  9. I've passed by some meetings where women, worked into a state of almost religious frenzy, were chanting about cutting our dicks off. Literally. Does that qualify? This is no lie. This happened a long time ago. The atmosphere has gotten worse over recent years.
  10. To let you understand where I come from. I have been a part of socialist circles in Sweden for a very long time. I've been engaged in anti-racist drives, demos, campaigns against female oppression, etc, etc. I've seen the rise of the "identitarian" Left, so to speak, in my country. The regressive Left. The "Feminist" Left that does not dare to speak out against immigrants abusing their women because that would be racist, for example. There are many women-only events in these circles. The most notable leftist place in my town organizes women-only meetings (cafes, concerts) at least once a week. In this environment the hatred of men is incredible. Mindboggling. You learn to tolerate being disrespected for your gender or you get out. That your opinion does not matter because you're a man. All Swedes know this, but the men dare not speak out. The only people able to address the systemic discrimination against men in our society are women, and even they are treated as outcasts. That should tell you a little about how things work here.
  11. That was not my argument, but: Yes. Absolutely. Have you visited my country?
  12. I care because I know from personal experience what segregating on the grounds of sex leads to. I care because I know what trivializing this leads to. There needs to be a zero tolerance policy when it comes to this. However, I will shut up now. I wanted to point out that no, I'm not a right winger. no, I'm not a "men's right activist", but I do see a problem with this on the simple grounds of human equality. Stating I see a problem with this should not be grounds for attacking and belittling me for my gender. That's simply proving there is a problem here.
  13. Are "mother's day events", as you call them - we have Mother's Day here, and I've never, ever heard of any events where only mothers can attend - geared towards women who have birthed a baby? Is Wonder Woman a movie only of interest to women? What this all boils down to is you have a situation where you ban one gender from entering a theater and then you try to argue it isn't sexism. That's pretty much horrid.
  14. Of course it got people upset. It would get any person who cares about equal rights upset!!! It's one thing if "only men", "only whites", "only blacks" or "only women" have directed something. In the case of movies, for example, that's pretty much unavoidable. It's quite another to publicly state, "look, we're keeping the filthy men out of here! Go us!!"
  15. In other words you wouldn't sympathize with women protesting against that?
  16. I'm sure they'd get a lot of publicity by banning Blacks from the theater too. So, why don't they?
  17. I see something wrong with events discriminating on the base of gender and the color of your skin. I'm also absolutely certain you'd sympathize with people protesting against a men-only screening. Stop lying.
  18. "I'm allowed to discriminate against men, because men have been evil to me." Good one. You are the one using a male "title" as an insult here. Don't you understand how this is toxic? Did I bring up your gender?! And no, you are wrong. Men aren't the privileged gender "in every fucking society" anymore. Where I live, by pretty much every criteria women are better off, yet they scream about being "oppressed" by "the evil patriarchy" of Sweden, i.e. the very state that cements their privilege. "none of this can happen due to single innocent event when both women and men have every option" - again, wrong. Both women and men do not have every option. Again, this is a symbolic move.
  19. Christ, you don't get it, do you? I have nothing against the Wonder Woman movie. I'll watch it. I hope it'll do great. I'm a DC fan. No, this isolated incident won't oppress one gender that much. That seems to be your argument. Don't you see the problem with that? "The MRA crowd." Indeed. If you're interested in equality between the sexes, you're an MRA now. I only thought I was a Socialist.
  20. Equating, "madam"? I'm merely saying that the very idea of banning one sex from any event is sexist. Period. This is a bad example.
  21. Would you say the same thing to a black woman being told she can't watch that movie at that particular location and evening? This is symbolic. Do you know why I am sensitive to these things? I'm a Marxist. Living in Sweden. The so-called "radical Left" is infected with these segregationist ideas. I've been exposed to their fascist policies more than most people.
  22. I live in a country with "more than just one" women-only event. It started with "just one" here too. Again, would you be fine with one, single, white-men-only event for the American Nazi Party?
  23. What would you think of Black-only screenings? White-only screenings? Yes, I think "veteran-only" screenings are wrong, but at least, these people are actually united by specific life choices!!! Nobody chooses the color of their skin, their gender or their sexual orientation. This is where identity politics becomes apartheid.
  24. Is the drop for Suicide Squad larger or smaller than for Batman v Superman over the same time period?
