Brilliant. Cruise as Alt-Stark is brilliant. Set up for Tobey (and maybe even Andrew, the more the merrier) coming to Spiderman is all but done deal. Marvel is really reinventing itself with this move. I didn't care for Strange but now I'm super stoked for this. I also think that those cameos may not as as innocent as they look. Might be a trial balloon to see if there was interest to continue with the particular new actor in the old role. Like, if Cruise would commit and cameo went over well. He'll get a show stopping moment that gets people talking and all that jazz. Stay tuned.

I know right? Some things need to happen just for delicious meltdowns by people who set themselves for disappoint with unreasonable expectations. -

Yeah, twitter should check the source first before losing their shit. Tabloid scoop? Hard pass. -
Agreed with this. I didn't associate it with YA because it isn't drivel ha ha but I was 15 when I read it for the first time and got obsessed. so after that I sat through Lynch movie several times actually even if I still find it boring af and hunted down the TV show which I liked much better. This is going to be the real deal, though.

but it isn't a SW style epic anyway so it shouldn't translate to it. I also don't know how it is an angsty YA thriller. Because the protagonist is a teenager? Because he has a love interest? Big chunk of the trailer is Mohiam's narration that his father will lose everything which is why he should learn how to rule so that he doesn't. I don't see much YA here. But fair enough, you do. I understand why but I also have book bias.

Die hard fans will show up but I think that GA will too. It's an accessible trailer. Story is familiar but it also has tricks up its sleeves for GA not to feel like they are watching same old. And the cast is so good looking so it should attract different demos and do well OS. They love pretty + spectacular.

watched this over and over. It really bring the book to life. Momoa is a standout and no wonder they cast him as Duncan who is the main hero in the books after Children of Dune. if they are hoping for a long lasting franchise which I'm not sure they'll get but casting is perfect so more power to them. What everyone calls generic I call accessible.
