  1. Possible though Nutcracker could find a nice niche with girl audience that hasn't had a Princess movie since BatB. so I don't think Grinch will kill it unless it's truly awful and incomprehensible (I still don't know WTF is the movie about except that Clara enters an alternate realm and has to fight Keira Knightley and Helen Mirren but why?).
  2. yeha, Nutcracker will challenge 30M. that much is obvious by now. reverse AWIT. Where AWIT fell short of tracking, Nutcracker will exceed. It may open above AWIT since it looks like AIW but with much more charismatic female lead (though minus Depp).
  3. A Beast Is Born A Star Is Beast Big test will be BR but I don't expect a collapse.
  4. then that's one more reason to root for other movies to pass that number.
  5. yay for Solo that finally something is doing worse. But dom, Nutcracker Over Solo?
  6. Yes! More Shaw family members! Also great call on their part to grab Kirby after her fantastic MI6 debut!
  7. I think we could get 30-ish Nutcracker and 50ish Rhapsody since IMAX sales for Rhapsody are blowing up. People want concert feel. Go Freddie!
  8. Ok, I have a question. I'll put it in spoiler tags just in case cause it's a big change if true:
  9. @el sid Agreed and I corrected myself later that it should do decent in Europe cause it's a famous story. better than AWIT for sure.
  10. They'll downplay the budget but it looks expensive to me. At least 130M if not higher. should do better than AWIT though because at least Europe may check it out cause it's a famous story, though the movie barely resembles it.
  11. I fully expect a snub at this point because upcoming movies will generate more buzz and he definitely won't be critic's pick to tide him over.
  12. Gosling has no chance of winning either. Both are vying for one of 2 also run spots and also runs are the most vulnerable. Both have strengths and weaknesses: Rami - popular movie, guaranteed blockbuster by the look of presales and how it's blowing up in UK, iconic historical person, praised performance, but bad reviews for the movie Gosling - praised performance and movie, iconic historical figure but boxoffice bomb Top 3 (in no particular order): Bale, Cooper, Mortensen.
  13. well, this won't have reviews out til the last day so chances are it's pretty bad.
  14. Something has to give way. there are too many children movies in a short time (Nutcracker, Grinch, FB, Ralph). Grinch could reach those numbers and Nutcracker could nose-dive after OW. You never know.
  15. i'm joining Nucracker over 30M club but BR goes over 40M for sure.
  16. what's the budget for this? I can't imagine that OS will care, though, and FB should cut its legs short.
