Next 2.5 weeks really determine legs. After that school is back and it will fall hard.

I like how everyone went from "this is an easy $2B movie" to "anything near it is good!".
lol folks were predicting 3B, 1B domestic and 6-7x legs. Also 1.8 ain’t happening.- 2

Guaranteed whoever they get for Wonder Woman will be way worse. Honestly I imagine Gunn will likely fail big time. I will be shocked if he does well. He’s got an insanely hard job ahead of him.

I’m saying $800m-$1.1bn.
It’s time to get real, friends.
sweet christmas WW that seems aggressive. Surely it will have good legs.
However I would bet it's much closer to 1.2B than it is 2.2B.

With 2.1-2.4B WW range Likely and 2.6-3B questionable...I Feel more will be Made indeed Brother Dan 😉
Then we got the 94 Audience Scores of RT, and Polls from AOL, The Wrap, HR all saying 5 out 5 and a must see recommendations. . Repeat Returns are looking very very good.. India is huge for Avatar, and SK continues to pickup... I need Austraila, and UK Numbers.. Anyone seen London, Germany, Italy so Far.
435M-450M WW start.... Looking good versus Avatar 1. Where all those under TGM Domestic and WW and no shot at NWH WW folks went?? I think they got lost in the Pandora Forrests folks.
THIS......THIS YOUR BOX OFFICE TO TAKE JAKE!" " This is Your Avatar!"
"LETS GET IT DONE!"
Sub 2 billion is a guarantee at this point. Estimates are lowering every day.

It should still be able to get into the $55-70M range. That's not amazing but it's far better than what Japan will do.
true but that's horrific vs the original.
-
Wow that’s an epic disappointment. It’s going to end up way below the original.

It's not making a billion domestic lol
Close to zero chance it sniffs 800. Probably a lot lower -

I predict under 4.5x OW. Maybe even under 4x but that’s a bit crazy

Would be $261M at current ER. Exact same USD total of Avatar in China. That’s pretty horrible but expected

Hopefully it still well enough for all the sequels I want that. Delusions of grandeur aside I want to see all 5 happen.

As I expected massive drop in china numbers. I knew that would happen. You can’t take away 2 years of fear in 2 weeks. That and frankly reception for #2 is below #1, novelty is gone and it’s a different market 13 years later. It’s a different market from 2019!

Looking back we can tell that Marvel might be the luckiest franchise on Earth, they have grown up with China market, and both reached their peak potential together, Endgame was very lucky it got released right before Covid hit Earth. The Endgame premiere "concert"/ fans ceremony in Shang Hai was also phenomenal and beautiful. I do wonder if I could ever see something like that again.
mall about timing. Avatar got 400 million extra due to currency exchange rates. Now it will be punished by those same rates -

GotG2 is still a pretty zany and irreverent film with poop and dick jokes. I would hope Gunn can stay away from that with Superman, but I don’t know if I believe he can.
Suicide squad sucked as well and was a massive flop

I love how you say you're looking at this in an unbiased manner, yet everyone knows you have always had INSANE takes about Superman.
Any person with a brain knows that comparing Instagram likes and Twitter likes is asinine. Also, not a single Gunn tweet has been ratio'd, so there goes your negative response narrative.
Yes, this is a bummer for Henry and people who loved his version.
Yes, it appears I may have been wrong about a complete reboot.
But Gunn is a great writer, proven time and again. It will be fascinating to see what he writes for Superman, because I don't think he's written a character like him.
Gunn has made plenty of dog crap. He’s a ridiculous choice for Superman. Hell I hate Zack Synder and he’s way better

You do know they're not going to dump all their 2023 DC films, that's just stupid. Nobody is going to stop seeing say Shazam 2 because they recast Superman.
Meh. I liked the first one, won’t go to theaters for the 2nd. I assume Shazam will die too. Gunn will likely kill off everything good and create some goofy stupid thing- 1

Gotta think James Gunn will likely ruin it. Hopefully next director can revive Superman. I imagine his entire universe of films will fail.
