  1. OG Avatar brought in people who were usually non-movie goers in droves because of the 3D novelty factor. A2 won't be able to do the same.
  2. Bad Guys (Russia/China/Iran) have some kind of new technology and are planing to do something bad. By Movie Logic because Maverick is a fossil he has abilities that somehow makes him a silver bullet against the Bad Guys' new technology, so now he need to train a new generations of pilots to have those abilities and together they'll go on a mission to bomb the shit out of those Bad Guys.
  3. I think this was already gonna be at the level of the recent M:I movies, but with good marketing it can tap into the 'only goes to the movies once a year' crowd that carried American Sniper.
  4. Warner will market this as the next LORT or GOT, and people will come in expecting some 'out there' things.
  5. I think Warner is still chasing their next LOTR. This should've been a 8-10 episode series on HBO.
  6. I think there is still some good will left for this franchise.
  7. Once the first teaser is out I'm gonna make an under Salvation adjusted (currently at $152M) thread.
  8. I'm not that surprised by this. Queen was one of the biggest music acts in history. Only the likes of The Beatles, Elvis, Michael Jackson or ABBA were bigger than them. They were also bigger in the rest of the world comparatively than in the U.S.
  9. I think the T-800 ripping the flesh of his hand is the primary reason for the R.
  10. Black Panther is in my top 10. The DOM figure has been talk about enough around here, but for the OS figures are even more impressive in that it completely broke multiple misconceptions that can be summed up as: "FOREIGNERS DON'T WANT TO WATCH MOVIES WITH BLACK PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY THOSE RACIST CHINESE."
  11. I been thinking about for a while now, and I have nothing besides anecdotal first and second hand experiences, and I know it should be taken as nothing more than an educated guess (and not even that in stuff like 3D films from earlier in the decade) but Mojo's stated average ticket price of $9.14 for 2018 just doesn't sit well with me. And hey, if I'm just being irrational and you can prove me wrong please do so.
  12. I still think Steph Curry would have been just as a good of a pick as LeBron. I remember during the height of his popularity in 2016, all the NBA reporters were saying that the haven't seen anything like that since Jordan.
