Yeah, this film has "Valentine's Date Movie" written all over it.....

And No previews is almost always a sign the studio does not much confidence in a film.

Uh....are you aware of how many teen couples go to horror movies? I'm talking about mostly that demographic. Young adults will go see The Photograph, sure. Some teen couples too. Most of them will go see a horror.

Maybe it’s just a result of how depressing the news regarding Birds of Prey is (and I wasn’t even looking forward to that one), but I’m actually kind of warming up to the Matt Reeves Batman film. At this point, I’m all for rebooting Batman. I just hope WB has the sense to keep Robert Pattinson’s Batman separate from the other DC movie franchises.

I agree, except, as I've said before, I do want it to be connected to Joker.

I can’t comment on your posts itself because I never read them (maybe they were trollish, maybe not) but I think this should be a lesson that we can’t shut down opinions that are “against the grain” on this forum by dismissing them as trolling. If someone legitimately thinks Tenet is going to bomb this summer, they should be free to express that opinion. While we think we can, box office isn’t always predictable.

Unfortunately that's not how it works here, DAJK, as I've found. Certain opinions aren't allowed.

My Opinion on Joker remains unchanged: It's a good film, not a great one, though it has a great performance by Phoenix.

I think it's one of those films that are more meaningful to some than others. For me, it was the most surreal movie-going experience of 2019. No contest. The way it was acted, written and directed, with the perfect score on top of that, it was just a film that hit every single note for me, as much of a sombre watch as it is.

I'm late but I refuse to celebrate Joker in any way. That Phillips has been nominated for directing/writing awards is laughable. BUT I will admit that Joaquin's BAFTA speech was brilliant and made me soften to him as a person. I'm cool with him sweeping the best actor award this season.

Why is it laughable? The film was incredibly well directed and written, though Phoenix's performance and the score were the clear best components.

It's why I have a rule to get out and talk to people every day.  Every day you're in person with people, you realize how awesome they are when not behind a screen:)...and people are really awesome, especially when you give them the time and space to be...

Soooooooo true. I have to constantly remind myself of this. Every time I think the internet represents the entire world around me, I'm reminded, no, lots of times they're vocal minorities and most people are just like me (and good people, like you said.

Thanks @TwoMisfits. I needed to hear that!

    And on the movie point...

So, I got to watch Die Hard with my kids today for my older boy's birthday.  And you know, after a little slow start, that movie is just as fun and cool as I remembered...and my kids did really enjoy the Yippee-Ky-Yay Motherfu..er lines and scenes...and all the Christmas themes in a movie that really just didn't need them, but somehow makes it better anyway:)...it may go onto the 2020 holiday list...

And damn, Alan Rickman...so creepy for so long, but then pulling out the American accent - I forgot that scene:)...

Great tradition to start with the family! Glad your kids enjoyed it.

You are becoming wise to the fact that there are people who would condone ripping apart a speech when you guys, yes you guys, created controversies of Obama eating Dijon mustard and wearing a tan suit.

So yeah, all you smart conservative folks can collectively shut up (which is what I am saying since saying the alternative which I am thinking isn't great like the alternative Pelosi said). All conservatives standing up behind this racist Orangutan in Chief is amazing.

    So... Shut Up.

    *shakes head*

I feel sorry for people like you. So, so self-righteous and rigid. You and so many others like you, specifically those high up in the Democratic Party, think hating Trump and destroying him is of more importance than anything. It's sad, and incredibly frustrating, to watch.

How does this work then? We let idiot in chief go on spouting nonsense and then have to hear braindead followers defend it. No, sorry, the time for niceties is done. Now... Shut up.

Again. I wasn't defending Trump or even talking about him. I was talking about hilarious and pathetic Nancy Pelosi's speech ripping was (something that if Trump did you'd all be losing your minds over!) and then I called people celebrating it (remember, the speech included some really important things, even if a lot of it was BS) liberal sheep. Then I was told to shut up. It's not like I'm sitting here defending Trump's "grab her by the pussy" comment or something like that. Clearly only one opinion is allowed.

That right there is the problem in the divided West right now. Luckily, I and many other conservative folks are becoming wise to this act and it's not going to fly. So, no, I'm not going to shut up. As long as I'm being a decent human being and following the rules of the forum, I'm allowed to have my opinion.

Exactly, only a pathetic good for nothing racist will do stuff like this

But sure, let's go on about being nice to the racist sexist homophobic orange Cheeto in chief

I didn't say be nice to him. For me, this isn't even about Trump (I know he lives in everyone's heads rent free so the discussion always comes around to him). I was talking about the left's tactic of silencing/attacking/shaming anyone on the other side of the debate. So don't tell me to shut up. That's not how this works. Don't be like that.

Because the pig headed republicans who are trying to kill immigrants, ignore half of America and make life a living hell for everyone else deserve it. So.. shut up.

Edited to add: And Trump is a racist crack addled hare brained idiot who deserves to be embarrassed every time.

Second edit: Trump is also a sexist, ego maniacal, hardhead who has delusions of grandeur and those pig headed republicans are his enablers while they take the US back to the dark ages.

Pathetic. Not even going to bother arguing because you and the rest of the sorry lib crowd have already made up your mind.

I don't even like Trump! I just can't get over how you people eat up every anti-Trump narrative hook, line and sinker.

    Whatever, moving on.

Funny, because I am actually a registered Democratic Socialist. I don’t even like the DNC or Pelosi. It’s just knowing you, and your “liberal sheep” comment, you’re going to be obnoxious, and I’d rather tell you to stop before you annoy me and many others.

    So again...shut up.

If I were railing on Trump and pig headed Republicans, would you be telling me to shut up?

Don't answer. Just chew on that and we'll move on.

Oh I'm sure people would be making some big deal out of it.

It's still pretty dumb. It's not like there aren't some grave issues out there that matter a million fold more. Decorum got thrown out the window a long long time ago. Might as well drop the pretense.

Yeah, fair enough. I just thought it was kind of hilarious and pathetic at the same time, as I said. That's all.

    Moving on.
