  1. By the way, my bad on the date. I requested the change to February 7, 2019. Obviously it's 2020, not 2019. Thanks mods, or @CaptainJackSparrow.
  2. It does look great, doesn't it? I feel like there are two types of horror films: the cheesy kind and the kind you can take seriously. This looks more Ari Aster than a cheap Blumhouse kind (not hating on Blumhouse horrors, I'm a sucker for those too!).
  3. Yeah, admittedly tracking is actually looking pretty good. I had this movie pegged to bomb. We'll see how it shakes out. Maybe this will simply hit the spot for a lot of folks, no matter how it looks to me personally.
  4. Wondering if studios are going to start re-evaluating releasing horror movies on Presidents' Day weekend. For the longest time it was agiven that teens and couples would show up to horrors (after all, it has been a popular genre for those demographics) but it seems like it's not so agiven anymore. Last year Happy Death Day 2U, a film a lot of us thought would do well, especially on that particular weekend, fell flat on its face. Seems like this isn't tracking for anything too special either, though as you said with that budget it would be kinda hard to fail.
  5. Given how horror has fared so far in 2020, is it almost guaranteed that this out-opens Fantasy Island? Romance/couples movies have always done well on Presidents' Day weekend, or the weekend before, depending on which weekend is closer to Valentines Day.
  6. @keysersoze123 last post in the tracking thread: Gentlemen Previews FINAL MTC1 - overall 602 shows 17371/78767 226461.91 MTC2 - overall 596 shows 9657/76540 109547.00 It did have a good spurt but final numbers are still meh. I had thought 0.8m previously but comparing to DL it could go lower slightly. SO will say ~ 0.75m Turning Previews Final MTC1 - overall 545 shows 9458/66245 120448.97 MTC2 - overall 591 shows 7486/75919 81448.00 Also did have a good increase today. I will say 0.45m Mostly there is little point tracking these movies days ahead of release as most of the ticket sales happen on the final day. Holy shit! Almost bang on.
  7. Been looking forward to this ever since we got the first trailer last spring! Looks very good! I hope there's enough buzz leading up to this that NEON opens this wide alongside Birds of Prey, though like I said in my last post, I doubt it. If it gets enough traction in limited release then maybe it goes wide later? We'll see.
  8. @CaptainJackSparrow Do you mind updating the title with the current release date (February 7, 2019)? BOM and The Numbers currently list it as opening limited but you never know with these things. Probably, though.
  9. Unfortunately it doesn't look like that's going to happen. Looks like audiences blew their load on Bad Boys and likely saving their theatre dollars for BoP next. It's tracking for under $10M (depending on who you ask).
  10. I remember you mentioning the original work "The Turn of the Screw", but I don't recall if you said you actually read it. If you did, how did you like it?
  11. You can't go to Cineplex theatres regularly and NOT know who Tanner Zipchen is. Huh. I wonder what the reasons were. I realize interviews are heavily edited and stuff but it seemed like he actually jived pretty well with a lot of the celebs he interviewed. Seemed pretty good at his job in other words. That's cool that your friend heard back from him! Doubt it, but maybe we'll get some tidbits about it.
  12. Admittedly hes making some better moves lately. That and he also seemed to see something that nobody else did regarding Subban. I hated that move at the time but now it's clear he was on to something.
  13. Not a surprise. Some of the worst film endings are from horrors. Sigh.
  14. I was just going to guess the chain giving people problems is Cineplex. They're really slow getting reserved seating into a lot of theatres. My theatre only has reserved seating in ONE auditorium, the premium one (UltraAVX).
