  1. It's a dump in every sense of the word. It's a film that was supposed to come out last February and the studio could have rescheduled it for anywhere but they chose to stick it in January.
  2. WB has their new AI technology analyzing the viability of this as we speak.
  3. I don't know why everyone keeps comparing Gentlemen to Kingsman. Because the posters have the same font? I mean, to me both look a lot different.
  4. Yikes. Wonder if Gretel & Hansel will be another step down from that? Horrors might be pretty ugly for you until The Invisible Man.
  5. It had a $1,806,099 OW playing in 486 theatres ($3,716 PTA). I wonder if that's just enough for the studio to expand this wide. I doubt it. Not quite strong enough to project a decent wide opening.
  6. Did you track the Playmobil movie? Trying to guess which movie previously had the least presales that you tracked...
  7. It's real. Saw that poster on Sony's official twitter/instagram.
  8. The Pacific Division is nuts! It's a race between 5 teams that are within a point of each other. Going into the All Star break my Canucks are first with 58 points and the next 4 teams (Flames, Oilers. Golden Knights and Coyotes) are tied with 57 points. WIIIIIIDE open.
  9. When are the Habs getting rid of Bergevin??
  10. It tells me that these critics really do have a manual, or a checklist. If these items (character moments) aren't blatantly obvious, then they're missing. You're absolutely right that the action is telling not only the story but also about the characters.
  11. What are your thoughts on RDJ in this? I heard his performance is one of the biggest beefs with critics.
  12. Considering the unexpected success of this movie so far, and the fact the tagline is "One last time", I'm interested to see how the option is open for more. Seeing it on Saturday!
  13. Just ordered a book containing two Henry James novellas, The Turn of the Screw and In the Cage. Looking forward to reading the former specifically and getting to know the basis of this film. Can't help but feel, even with the existence of The Innocents, that a straight up adaptation of the story would have been better than this modern take.
  14. Have my tickets for Saturday. This is going to be a lot of fun, I just know it! I'm actually doing a Bad Boys/Gentlemen double header!
  15. That's literally impossible. Anyway, shame about this movie. However, it doesn't look blatantly bad judging by the trailers. There's enough there that I'm interested in seeing it and then deciding for myself. Can you imagine the complete 180 this would do in terms of tracking if EON suddenly, out of the blue, announced that this IS set in the world of Bond? It's not going to happen. but it's an interesting thought.
  16. Man, it really looks like I'm in the minority in terms of liking the look of this movie. Well @Blaze Heatnix and I haha. To your point Blaze, you're right on the money with the Ari Aster comment. It also has Sophia Lillis in it, who I think did a stellar job in It, so I'm willing to give her a chance here too.
  17. Unfortunate, @TwoMisfits, because I think this movie will be COUNTING on the kids demo. I only have the opinions of a few adults in my circles but my hunch is that most adults who have a feeling of nostalgia towards Sonic don't really care there's a movie. Nostalgia ain't selling this as far as adults go.
  18. Huh. I just mentioned in the Photograph thread that I wasn't missing much by seeing that on Valentine's but I finally decided to watch the trailer for this and.....it looks kinda good? Yeah, I'm game for this. I'll need my horror fix by this point after the disappointing The Grudge and skipping out completely on the several duds between then and when this comes out.
  19. Well, just found out this is what I'll be at the theatre for on Valentine's Day. The other options are Sonic and Fantasy Island so I suppose I'm not missing too much. I would have been up for FI but Sonic doesn't interest me whatsoever.
  20. I find myself wondering how much of an adventure epic this is going to be vs. a poignant man/dog friendship story. Admittedly I haven't read the novel but from. There's something about the trailer that just isn't selling me on the epic adventure part, even if that aspect is in plain view in said trailer. I don't know, just having doubts for whatever reason.
  21. Yeah I mean, I didn't think the trailer looked too bad but I'm wondering why it seems to be tracking for a healthy 30-ish million opening. Feels like this is being hyped up as the "event horror" of the winter amongst the other horror duds in January and February this year.
