Haven't seen Jojo Rabbit, Parasite or Little Women yet, but my personal Best Picture is between this and Joker. Haven't decided yet. Next up on the watch list is Parasite.

I feel like Best Actor and Best Actress were easy picks this year. I had these two pegged for the Oscar around when Judy came out.

I absolutely agree. Super Bowl weekend is a dump weekend is because the studio makes it so, whereas you can say audience habits dictates something like Labour Day weekend being a dump weekend.

Personally, I have yet to see 3 of the 9 BP nominees: Jojo Rabbit, Parasite and Little Women. The first two I couldn't see because they never came to my local but at least I'll be able to watch them on digital just in the nick of time for the Oscars. LW, we'll see. It's still playing at my theatre but there are too many other movies that take precedence and I'm not able to see many.

I still haven't seen Gifted. That's definitely on the list to watch at some point here. Meanwhile, Dolittle is estimated to bring in $22.5M this weekend. Not as bad as I thought, but obviously still horrible everything else considered.

Insane how good this ended up being! It's getting the reviews. the audience raves AND the box office dollars! Just a massive success all around! By the way, Martin Lawrence is the aspect I'm looking forward to most about this movie. When we got the first trailer a lot of people commented on his appearance now but that's exactly it. A lot of us can relate to getting older and not looking like how we did in our "glory days". That's what makes it so awesome that (in all likelihood, I haven't seen the movie) he's going to help save the day in the movie. Just a normal guy who's gained a little weight, worried about checking in with the wife and seemingly not wanting any part of dangerous cop stuff!

So which one do you guys think looks better, this or Gretel & Hansel? Which one do you think will actually fare better at the box office?

Yep. Small-ish release, especially considering the fair bit of buzz it seems to be getting, not to mention marketing. I've seen more TV ads for this than anything this January.

Geez, that's bad, but it's Super Bowl weekend. Some of the worst movies of the year get put on this weekend.

It wasn't that I expected something and then got something else. I just didn't like it period, whereas this one, like I said, has a tone and aesthetic I can at least appreciate a little more.

June 2021 has the potential to be absolutely insane! Awhile ago I was thinking of making a "June 2021 will be the biggest month ever" club.

Holy shit! Those Bad Boys previews. A bunch of us have been commenting on how surprisingly good the movie looks, how it could surprise etc etc. Never did I expect THIS! As a box office fan I'm so thrilled about this! Also happy for Will Smith, Martin Lawrence and Sony.

Yeah but.....what else is new? I'm not saying it's right, or defending it, but I feel like sometimes people think they're a unique kind of victim. I mean, we're all of us at one point - male, female, white, black, gay, straight - victims of online hate and abuse. Maybe not all of us, but you get the point. I feel like, yeah, the world is a shitty place with some shitty people, we don't have to start talking like it's a new phenomenon that someone, or a certain demographic, has had something unjust or downright nasty done to them. Sorry, just had to get that off my chest. At the end of the day I'm not saying I don't feel bad for her. It's just not news to me whatsoever.

Yeah it's odd. For me it was a super cool experience and that's really what it's all about (besides the filmmakers' own sense of achievement and all that stuff).

Won't be able to see this until next weekend. Looking forward to it though!
