If you are a studio head, you support any film the studio has coming out, regardless of what you might or might not think about it. That is part of the job. Many retired studios heads have been frank about how they greenlit films they did not like personally but  saw would be hits for the studio. First duty of a studio head it to make a profit for the shareholders;that is true for any business.

Of course Gunn wants to make good movies but unless he makes the stockholderes happy he will not be around long.

I would think the shareholders would put Zaslav then the WB heads on the hot seat before Gunn. His reputation has tanked a lot since he took over.

How the fuck did CGI this bad make it into a major theatrical release? You'd think all the delays would help in that regard. This sequence sums up everything wrong with the DCEU and is why the reboot needs to come yesterday.

CG isn't worked on the entire time. One of the VFX artists who worked on WW84 did an AMA during the pandemic and he said that his VFX house was told to stop working on the film 4-5 months before release. IIRC it was a budget issue.

  3. Why do people keep bringing up Ezra going to prison? They already accepted a plea deal and will have to go on probation, pay a fine and continue mental health treatment.

Ezra isn't facing any other cases officially. The Hawaii charges were already dropped, and no one has filed anything about an alleged "kidnapping".

Will the people that watch the movie be under a review embargo? Like haven´t these people paid shit loads of money to be at this event? Tried to find out of whether people wrote reviews right after the screening of Maverick last year but RT is as usual not working.

IIRC it's only social media reactions.

  5. Here's what Finacial Times has said recently about WBD selling to Comcast and why it's not happening anytime soon.

Can Warner Bros Discovery win back Hollywood? | Financial Times (ft.com)

Unless the stock recovers significantly — it is down 40 per cent since the Warner-Discovery deal closed — a sale would be a blow for Zaslav and the rest of his team. Not to mention AT&T, whose shareholders were left owning 71 per cent of the company after offloading it at a steep discount from its initial $85bn purchase price. The shares are up 50 per cent this year to $15.10, still well below the closing price of $24.47 when the stock began trading in April 2021. For Zaslav to exercise the extravagant options awards he received, the shares will need to reach prices ranging from $35.65 to $43.33. “That theory comes up that, well, they’re just going to wait and sell it to [Comcast]. But the stock has to be higher than what it is trading at today,” a former Warner executive said earlier this year.

He's burning bridges left and right and Hollywood is an industry which never forgets and is always watching. So it's gonna be interesting if all these big directors and creators will want anything to do with him after the stuff he's done the past week.

I can't imagine any animation studio wanting to work with WBD after what he pulled this past week.

Puck News interviewed an unnamed Studio Head about Zaslav's recent decisions and they said that if you want to run a studio, you have to publicly support your filmmakers no matter how bad a project may be. Doing it the Batgirl way is how you get no one to work for you.

Alan Horn and Peter Rice both becoming available is a big win for them

Rice reportedly doesn't want to work under Zaslav. He pulled out of the running once he found out that he had to report to him.

Rotten Tomatoes got 63m visits in September. US is the biggest market with 40%+, UK is second with 7.2%.

I think nowadays the rating shows up on Google when you search for a film. It pops up on some streamers too.

I don't have cable anymore but my mother has Comcast and the RT & IMDB score are next to all the movie titles on there.

To be fair, Actor pay should be quite low considering it has not have any big stars and it wont be that much CGI heavy like Planet of the Apes movie that Reeves made. That said 100m sounds low in 2021 looking at how expensive production costs are plus this has been in pre-production for so long(from Batfleck days as an actor/director).

Also Reeves said they used no green screens, just the Stagecraft tech

I'll admit I could be misreading this, but I don't see this being very big at all. I don't think Keaton being in it will help turn it into some kind of monster.

Supposedly there's other DC heroes in the movie as well outside of Keaton, Batfleck & Supergirl. If they tease/show them in future promos then I think it'll be pretty big
