I hope Hemsworth gets to chew up plenty scenery
That "LADY AND GENTLEMENS, START YOUR ENGINES" delivery always amuses me when I see the trailer. Classic Mad Max Australian accent

Park Chan-wook is directing the hell out of this. That shouldn't be a surprise to anyone but the dude is just a master.
I think RDJ has been really funny and enjoyable in this. Next week's episode with him doing a Coppola making Apocalypse Now riff should be a lot of fun.

I really can't with the bAd CgI comments anymore when all you have to go off is a shitty youtube video. These always look so much better on the big screen.

It is absolutely criminal for theaters to have the audacity to not even be showing trailers at the movie's start time. Movie was supposed to start two minutes ago and they're showing a coca cola commercial
AMC MUST BE STOPPED.

Too bad this isn't doing that well at the box office cause it's pretty good. It's a pretty formulaic action revenge flick, right down to the training montage (which I used to take a bathroom break) but Dev Patel really directs the hell out of it which elevates the whole thing. The fight scenes are great and there's some other really electric sequences in this.

In the theater for Monkey Man. Going on 25 minutes of trailers now. AMC MUST BE STOPPED.

I'm really psyched for this. That soundtrack is off the chain. Boys noize's mix of it is out of Spotify now.
Heat. Second favorite soundtrack this year after Dune

Movie fucking flaps.
- Ridiculous world building
- Atrocious dialogue
- So many stupid looking monkeys
- Whole scenes of huge Kaiju just grunting at each other like it's normal dialogue
- Badass fights
- Destroyed like 3 wonders of the world
I've never booked round 2 tickets so quickly. Pump this shit out every 4 years and I will be there.
^This guy gets it

Very. Liked it a lot more than It Follows.

Very, very few horror films are actually scary once you're past a certain age. The last scary one I actually remember was The Lighthouse. Eli Roth's Thanksgiving had some imaginative gross out work but was about as scary as a He-Man episode.
I just judge horror movies based on how fun they are now. I'm not looking to be scared because films rarely do that for me, just keep me entertained. Malignant was my favorite horror of the last few years because it was a god damn blast, not because it was frightening in the least.

To be clear, Paul is not omniscient. He can not see everything. The book explicitly states that just as our eyes can not see beyond a mountain when you stand in a valley, prescient sight is also not absolute. He also can't see other prescient beings, like guild navigators.
Paul is a product of his environment. He believes he has a legitimate claim to the throne and he's willing to use the power of the Fremen to make that claim and destroy those that have betrayed him. In his mind, the Jihad is an unfortunate byproduct that he reluctantly accepts because any path that prevents the Jihad also prevents him from claiming the throne. This is why he's an anti-hero and not a villain. In a vacuum, his actions against those who betrayed him are justified, and those people are more traditional villains that deserve to be destroyed. But, he has prescience and knows the results will be catastrophic, thus he is not a hero.
But what do his justifications matter if he knows his actions are going to lead to a genocide? I just can't see him as anything other than evil.

I get the criticism of Alien: Isolation being too long / weirdly paced, but I enjoyed the fuck out of pretty much every second of it and probably still would've even if it were twice as long. That was the ideal game for me. I love Alien. I love horror and feeling frightened, but horror movies rarely if ever scare me anymore. That game probably made me feel the most genuine terror and fright from any piece of media I've ever consumed.

I like all the Alien movies.
People act like Prometheus & Covenant are the worst pieces of shit ever made but they're perfectly watchable despite their flaws. Same for Cubed, haven't seen Resurrection.

Honestly, pretty good Oscars. Seemed like the was a determined effort to get the hell on with it and not have the thing last all night. John Cena, Danny DeVito and Arnie were fun. Kimmel's a good host. I'm Just Ken was great, c'mon. Some nice speeches. Godzilla & Wes Anderson winning. Great gowns. Good show.

Correct choice. Would've been annoyed if Oppenheimer won best sound, I couldn't hear a word of dialogue over the music.

I really liked Woody Harrelson in War. Thought he brought a good unhinged energy to it.
