I mean there's a reason why Nolan keeps coming back to concepts, themes and tricks from Memento. It will always be the movie that is the foundation of Nolan's work.

I don't really care whether a director prefers film or digital as long as the choice is still there which is why it's important we have people like Nolan and Tarantino championing the format of film.

Yeah Part 2 has had far less complications and some of it was filmed during the production of Part 1 so hopefully the budget isn't as inflated. Then again McQ did say Part 2 is of a higher scale to Part 1 so who knows. Assuming it can hit the 2024 release date there's far less competition so it should have more room but unfortunately there's a clear ceiling for this franchise it seems.

I would guess either a proper film noir detective film or horror as Nolan's next outing. Probably the latter as he would want to make it massive in the vein of his work post-TDK.

I need it to keep raining in the UK for other reasons but if it helps Elemental the better

Yeah the 2024 schedule looks so barren. Potentially could have nothing above the $400M mark which is disastrous.

I used to love using Mojo for those showdowns it made using comps alot easier. It's a travesty what happened to that website.

Yeah GOTG Vol 3 got salvaged DOM by superb WOM but the OW was a bit underwhelming. I guarantee that movie breaks $400M if it was in 2022.

There's just too much apathy for the live action remakes that I can't see Snow White doing too well in relation to what I'm sure is a large budget.

Marvels should do decently and Cap can perhaps coast by with the brand name. Thunderbolts though looks really vulnerable and honestly studios should look to challenge the Dec release date it currently has.

The issue for Disney is all their film divisions have simultaneously are in a low ebb. Marvel is going ok BO wise but definitely not on the rise it was (ignore the Disney+ shows), Star Wars seems forever limbo, the live action remakes have lost their appeal, Pixar and WDAS suffered the most during COVID and only now have started to show signs of recovery. 20th Century only is Avatar. I'd say the live action division which Iger pivoted to live action remakes after Tomorrowland is coming back to bite them hard since they don't have any other franchises.

Always the case was so predictable to see them jump on the Barbie bandwagon as soon as it was obvious the BO was going up. Same thing with Elemental was so funny seeing people suddenly change their tune about the quality of the film when it showed the legs it did.

Nah have to disagree MI3 suffers too much from Abrams trying to manufacture action and tension through quick cuts and quick close ups with a frentic style. Dead Reckoning Part One goes for some wild shots but rarely at the expense of knowing what the action is. I do prefer the look of Fallout and to some extent Rogue Nation but I kinda like McQ shot the action with no coverage.

It's why I really want her to do something original next. If this is her Batman Begins/TDK equivalent I want her Inception equivalent. But if she really wants to do Narnia on Netflix up to her I suppose.

The airport scene is my favourite part of the movie. MI3 has no memorable set pieces (but it has qualities in other places).

The series is coming to its natural end which is fine. At a certain point you have to acknowledge no matter what you do the franchise has reached its peak interest. I do believe Part 2 will do better at least DOM but my guess is Cruise goes off and does other stuff after this.

Yeah pretty pathetic for Paramount to just throw their hands in the air and say we give up making original animated films. Citing Elemental as an example of why is poor as well.
