  1. Yeah the trailer looked good in the cinemas. Still though can't shape the feeling the marketing for this could have been better but that's just me being overly invested in this franchise.
  2. That run of Cinemascores post-Shazam is grim Also it’s dire that no DCEU film has grossed above $400M since they got their first $1B film in Aquaman
  3. I think about how in the last 10 years if there was more growth I could have had as a person and then I look at what the DCEU has done in the 10 years since Man of Steel. I'm doing alright in comparison I reckon.
  4. Surprisingly to hear criticism about Mangold's direction but when your direct competition is 80's Spielberg well....
  5. When was the last time a franchise bounced back from multiple failures? Just thinking that the hope is Gunn's DC Universr ushers in a new era of success for DC but generally I feel like most franchises that start declining just never recover or at least ever perform in the way people want again.
  6. I have full faith in James Gunn but there's so much riding on this movie I don't envy the pressure he'll be under to deliver a great movie both in quality and box office wise.
  7. A DC Film flopping might have been hilarious back in 2017 (the JL Weekend Thread still remains one of the hilarious threads on this forum) but now it's just sad. All this for a film that has been officially in development for nine freaking years (in which a TV show about the same character had 9 seasons in between).
  8. Enjoyed it alot! Has a really good emotional core that when the movie is about that it works really well. Ezra Miller is really good and really does carry this film. Keaton's Batman and Supergirl are decent additions but the extra stuff with Zod and others the less said the better. As an "endpoint" to the DCEU I wonder if this confuses audiences more than clarifies the new direction DC is going but I guess maybe they didn't decide to change that much after Gunn's hiring. As far as overall with this BO it just shows DC has a long way to winning the GA back in regards to a shared DC universe. Not to say DC films can't do well clearly they can as shown with The Batman but right now no DC film is getting a boost by simply being a film from the DC Universe.
  9. Been rewatching the Keaton Batman films and while I've enjoyed them probably more than I ever had I find it hard to imagine Keaton's Batman work well outside the aesthetic, style and tone that came with Tim Burton. Even in the trailers the Batman suit while great feels out of place.
  10. Anecdotally I've seen alot of advertisements for this movie around the city much more than I would have thought. Just hard to see this one stand-up against the competition unfortunately.
  11. Recasting is alot easier if the character came from pre-existing material. Really hard to recast an iconic character especially when the same actor has portrayed them for so long. Haven't really followed the tracking for this one but if it is in the $60M-$80M range for OW that's pretty abysmal IMO.
  12. I mean even if the raw numbers aren't the best I can see a sequel if the general reception for Transformers is very positive. Paramount are still short on bankers for franchises.
  13. They'll flashback to the moment of Mufasa's death in a sequel to show he actually survived thanks to hologram technology and Mufasa and Scar will make amends and become family again (yes Scar also survived as the sequels will show).
