  1. So I have two groups of people to watch with this on the weekend. But none of them can do opening day so I may be seeing this three times over Thursday to Sunday next week
  2. If they were to reveal T&A should have been done either 2nd trailer or when tickets went on sale. Spider-Man 2 still remains the best live action Spidey film but I forgot that Doc Ock really isn't in the film that much. Not a bad thing though when everything regarding Peter's life is compelling. I've also gotten around to MJ alot more as a character.
  3. Please don't let this be a Lego Movie 2 situation. I don't think it will though I don't expect a massive increase at the box office. Would be happy with $500M WW. Hopefully will continue to see more and more shows/films use CGI but in a way that tries to emulate a 2D look. Thinking like Arcane and even apparently the future Avatar: The Last Airbender tv shows will try to do that.
  4. Yeah I'm on my Spider-Man watch and finished the first Raimi film. So glad Green Goblin is back and from that special they did with the actors it'll be fitting if Norman is the main villain again.
  5. February 21 Minari March 6 Raya and the Last Dragon 7 Nomadland 25 Godzilla vs Kong April 1 Godzilla vs Kong 24 Mortal Kombat May 27 A Quiet Place Part II June 20 Fast 9 July 3 In The Heights 8 Black Widow October 30 Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings November 6 Eternals 13 No Time To Die 18 Last Night In Soho 27 Venom Let There Be Carnage December 2 Dune 4 Encanto
  6. Amazing movie best one since Zootopia. I enjoyed the main focus on family drama and fleshing them out as characters and it's also why alot of the humourlands better here. Weirdly the weakest part of the movie might have been the songs
  7. Makes sense to show some of the film to the "press" for the junket otherwise it's going to be hard for questions other than speculating on T&A (which there will be still just along with other questions).
  8. Well can't wait to see certain other characters appear very soon. Really love the choice of Echo as an antagonist both contrasting with Kate and Clint. Taking the more grounded and "human" approach is welcome with addressing Ronin rather than brushing it aside. Probably the only weak point so far in the show is the drama with Kate's family

  10. Yeah I definitely take some what I said back about the two trailers (as trailers I still personally meh on them) but definitely it shows the GA is all in on the multiverse aspect and the promise of T&A. In hindsight it's probably better for WOM they are not in the trailer so there are no expectations about what their roles are besides being in the movie. You put them in the trailer confirming them then the question becomes how big their roles are which the movie may disappoint in.
  11. Well tbf we are kinda in one atm lol But in all seriousness really happy to see these numbers. I still think there is a lingering covid affect in general for moviegoing but with event films like these it's enough to overcome them.
  12. There are plenty of villains to use for future Spider-Man films and one thing that can't be denied is the villains in this iteration have been really good so far. I think they should not rush the next Spidey let Holland go do some other stuff and come back in 3 years time ready for another trilogy.
  13. Haven't been this worried about getting tickets since Endgame already all the VMAX sessions on opening night are being quickly sold.
  14. Tickets on sale here as well. While movies have been back been hard to get a large group to join. Hope NWH accomplishes that.
  15. I feel like in all aspects from conception of the film to spoilers to trailers/marketing. Endgame was done so much better.
  16. Glad to see this one get great reactions. The Byron Howard movies are among the best of this era of WDAS films (Tangled, Zootopia) and thought Bolt was pretty decent as well.
  17. To be clear I think Turning Red will remain theatrical my thinking of whether it would go to Disney+ was more of a response to calling Encanto disappointment after one day of sales. I would hope Disney is realistic with themselves that family going films still need more time to get back to prepandemic levels. Encanto's performance as long as it's around the 40M-50M 5 Day Mark is fine enough.
  18. Yeah I think that's one of the things Homecoming did better was have good focus on the supporting high school kids whereas FFH it's more of random side plots and it might be the same here
  19. We'll see what Disney thinks about Encanto's performance by seeing if they decide to change Turning Red's release plan. I think we're still in recovery mode in the sense audiences are alot more picker to choose which movies to come to the cinemas and especially families. Disney for the past 18 months has been fine with their animated films debuting on Disney+ and with Encanto only having 30 days before Disney+ I can see some families feeling fine to wait. Now if it was Frozen 3 then sure different story but not all BO successes should be blockbuster sequels.
  20. Glad they released the first two episodes cause the first one didn't have enough Clint for me but episode 2 is where the show finds a good balance of humour and fun. It is a bit of a cheat code to have Hailee Steinfield in your project as well. And really happy the stakes aren't anything greater than what the trailer suggest so far.
  21. Yeah the tracking thread got my hopes up for Encanto to push for $50M but realistically it's understandable and unfortunate that animation will take alot longer to recover. I think we'll have to wait till Lightyear to see BO numbers near prepandemic levels.
