  1. It is having an amazing run so far. I think it will have at least two more very solid weekends and then we'll see what happens.
  2. Thank you! Yes, I meant WW. And he is a she. I guess in some places around the world, Diana Prince can be a boy's name too. Lol
  3. So the number after the service fee is the true gross that counts toward revenue here in USA? Spider-Man is a monster. If it does 115, that is still excellent. I still hope for 140 for complete vindication for the movie. No matter what, it will probably end up in the top ten grossing movies of the year.
  4. I saw this movie yesterday. I went in expecting to be really scared, but I wasn't. I did love the humor and the 80s music references. The Losers were cute and very likable. I thought it was cheesy at times. I won't spoil it for anyone, but there was a part that reminded me of sleeping beauty and it was super cheesy and almost comical. I would give it 2-1/2 out of 4 popcorns.

  8. Scott Mendelson from Forbes hated it. Looks like he is the minority. I don't think the reviews will matter for this one. People want something new at the box office. This movie is going to be massive.
  9. It may very well be close to 411 after next weekend. Why would theaters drop it, when it finished 12th this past weekend and there aren't that many great films coming up in the next few weeks? IT and Kingsmen are the next two big ones. Bladerunner comes out in October. I can see WW holding on to a good amount of theaters (at least 500) through the end of September. Why not? The digital release sins seem to dent its box office. I don't think the DVD release will do much either. We'll see.
  10. Yes, the years of hesitation seems silly now. But I truly believe that this was the right time and the right type of movie.
  11. You must be ecstatic about the performance of this movie. It is great to see CBM carry the summer. Homecoming shows that sometimes a movie needs to run its course before a verdict is rendered on its performance. Its late legs have been darn impressive. Just as you do, I think it may very well pass Spider Man 3.
  12. 15. Can't wait. I read all Agatha Christie's books when I was in high school. Curtain in is my favorite.
  16. Tulip Fever- Theater capacity: 125 Attendance- ~20 Trailers: Suburbicon Home Again Florida Project Thomas Edison movie - don't remember name Winny The Pooh movie- don't remember name The movie was bad. VERY BAD!
  17. I just saw Tulip Fever. What a mess of a movie. It is incoherent. I should have seen Logan Lucky instead, but I wanted romance today.
  18. I don't know about that, ijack. I know that we're being hypothetical, but the releases after Spider-Man were pretty weak for the most part. I know almost everyone lauds Dunkirk, but it was a snooze fest for me. I REALLY didn't like it, but I respect that it was a huge hit. However, its demo isn't the same as Spidey's. IMO, Homecoming was the best release in July and WW was the best release in June. You'll recall that Guardians was still in its 4th week when WW was released. Then, she faced the prospect of Transformers, DM3 and Cars. As it turns out, WW affected them more than they affected her. Spidey is a kid friendly film. DM3 and Cars may have had a greater impact on it than they did on WW. Spidey benefited from its release because there was no real competition for its demo. WW definitely appealed to young children too, but a lot of older folks/seniors supported it. It is fun to speculate, but we will never know.
  19. More than likely Homecoming will be in the top ten for its 9th consecutive week. That is a heck of an accomplishment. But I wonder whether those who think that WW would have made ~360 with more competition think that Homecoming would have made ~290 with more competition? Personally, I think the point is futile. Just curious though. I am happy that the CBM saved the summer. I cannot imagine the summer box office without Guardians 2, WW and Spidey. They are worth celebrating for what they actually accomplished rather than lamenting or over analyzing what ifs. Alas, this is a box office site, however, so I guess that's what we're supposed to do. Cheers!
  20. I may be the only woman in the world who doesn't find Ryan Gosling good looking. He is an excellent actor though, but this movie looks dull.
  21. Keeping my fingers crossed that this long weekend's gross is about the same as last week forWW and that Diana passes IM3 by next Thursday.
