Times have shifted a good deal over the past few years, but I remember Holmes & Watson, having not been screened in advance for critics, having a 6M OD on Christmas and then dropping so hard after that.
Guess she’ll be sticking to TV for the foreseeable future. I just hope the writers behind this, Morbius, Gods of Egypt, The Last Witch Hunter and Dracula Untold never get work again.
We'll know tomorrow whether that clip was an accurate indicator of the consensus of the overall movie, but as of now, poor clip editing is not gonna get people excited. And even now, there's too much silliness in that clip.
I’m still waiting for a Destroy All Monsters style team up movie. If you’re the executive in charge of overseeing the MonsterVerse, how is such a movie not on the docket?
I think sub-20 over the three day weekend is guaranteed at this point. Sub-20 over six days would be embarrassing. I mean I know people are reporting ticket sales right now that suggest that won't happen, but let's see if refunds get requested the day before when reviews drop. 😜
I just read that a theater chain will add 214 reward points to members' accounts if they buy tickets to see the movie on V-Day, which they say is not being done for Bob Marley.
We’ve seen the cast do promos for the movie and I’m sure we’ll see more people at the red carpet premiere on Monday, but Dakota seems to be the only one doing press and interviews. Unless I missed something.
The notion that they're doing it to hide spoilers is silly. Infinity War and Endgame were considered pretty spoiler heavy and both of those movies had their embargoes drop three days before release, not one day.
Not *every* year for the past 20 years. 2004-2006 didn't kick off the summer movie seasons with Marvel movies. And then there was 2020 and 2021 for obvious reasons.
This timetable makes sense considering the red carpet premiere is February 12.
Considering the talks of potential walk-ups for Madame Web on V-Day, I'm half expecting more of those walk-up audiences to opt for the Anyone But You V-Day special release since it's a more V-Day friendly movie and those audiences having likely already seen it, it's a movie they already know they enjoy vs. Madame Web which they risk not enjoying for V-Day. I can't help but feel like the potential stinker they have with Madame Web is why they're doing a special V-Day release for Anyone But You since they're from the same studio.
