  1. Besson confirmed this week to Italian TV and Screenrant he is willing to make a sequel. http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/other/luc-besson-says-valerian-sequel-possible/vp-AAsdXMn http://screenrant.com/valerian-reactions-luc-besson-sequel/
  2. Valerian now n°2 at the yearly box office. 1 Despicable Me 3 UPI $39,806,593 7/5 2 Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets EuropaC $34,943,066 7/26 3 Raid dingue Path $33,304,269 2/1 4 The Boss Baby Fox $29,907,042 3/29 5 The Fate of the Furious UPI $29,892,297 4/12
  3. China is complete mistery. Why is the average lifetime duration of a movie in China <2 weeks. Last week the fall for Val, Cars and BD was bestween 75% and 95% and this week-end Dunkirk will experience the same.
  4. Time have changed.... In France big movies use to make more than 10M admissions... Nearly impossible today...
  5. If I look at the Yearly Box Office, I see that Valerian did better than Spiderman, Kong, Apes and Wonder Woman in Germany.... not bad. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/intl/germany/yearly/
  6. [mod edit] 1. Nobody ever wrote here that Valerian is an international success (that's something you invented) --> This alone makes all your comment irrelevant. 2. Just underlining that Valerian is doing well in France (difficult to call a film n°2 at the yearly box office a local failure) or in other countries doesn't mean that we think it's an international success (but I know you probably considers US as the center of the world and other countries not even worth to be mentioned) 3. The fact thath people are trying to find reliable sources, crossing information and determine what is the exact exposure of Europacorp on this movie doesn't mean they want to prove the movie is a success, it means that they want to make more intelligent comments that "What an international disaster". So continue to read Hollywood Reporter, [mod edit] because at the end... who cares ?
  7. Is Marvel not the guy who predicted less than 2M admissions in France ?????? Or less than 40M in China ??? I would hide myself in a cave if I was you....
  8. Continue to read high level litterature like Hollywood Reporter.... Ignorance is a comfortable position for stupid people.
  9. Hollywood Reporter financed with the money of US majors is HUGE PROPAGANDA MEDIA (they are trying to destroy Europacorp since a couple of years ) Nothing to do with Valerian.... Fake news again... The decision to produce Valerian was made BEFORE the arrival of Edouard de Vessine in 2016... The reason for resignation of Edouard de Vessine is conflict of interest between Europacorp and the company owned by Edouard de Vessine "Incognita" But we all know that US interest are trying to infuence the media in order to diffuse fake News... the real purpose is that US investors wants to take control of the company and therefor lower the value of the shares.
  10. Don't think the topic here is Dane Dehaan.... but the financial result of Valerian. And Budget of the movie is not 175M$ as reported by the media but 150M$ after tax credit. https://www.forbes.com/sites/robcain/2017/06/28/how-luc-bessons-europacorp-made-the-171-million-valerian-as-a-prudent-low-risk-investment/#4f9e7d051b93 In documents I have seen, the estimated final net cost after tax credits will come in at $150 million. Shmuger says, “The movie is now completed and ready to be delivered to partners around the world. We benefited from French rebates for shooting at our facilities in Paris, and the New Zealand and Canadian rebates for work we did in those places. In sum, our financial exposure after equity financing and foreign sales from our many partners around the world is less than 10% of the budget. In other words, the cost to EuropaCorp to mount the largest European production ever made, the largest independently-produced non-studio production ever made, the dream project of the company’s founder-- the total cost to the company is not $200 million or $150 million, but under $20 million of financial exposure. People haven’t understood this, so we want to get the correct story out.”
  11. Not mocking marvel because of bad prediction but because he spend his life destroying this movie
  12. I think everybody needs you here. As stated my post was no way against you.
  13. Exactly my post was against the professionnal basher marveldcfox. Gavin please come back !
  14. 51.6M$ on first week. It's seems that Valerian is not doing as bad as everyone was thinking it will do. It's already better than former Besson's production Lucy and other 2017 blockbusters like Assassin's Creed, Ghost in the Shell or Alien: Covenant. Could end nearly at the same level that Rogue One.
  15. In this article they also speak about the strategy of Europacorp who wants to develop TV show in the US (Taken will be adapted as a TV show and broadcasted on NBC) and Cinema in China.
  16. Fundamentals invested 60M in Europacorp and is owner of 27,9 % of the total capital of the company. In Public statement of Europacrop this investement doesn't seem directly linked to Valerian. See link bellow (in french) https://www.lesechos.fr/29/09/2016/lesechos.fr/0211341594969_europacorp-accueille-le-chinois-fundamental-a-son-capital.htm
  17. Hum Fake news from Deadline.... (who would be so stupid to buy this film 50M when it means that it neeeds to make +200M$ to be break even....). Fundamental Film invested 50M$ in production company Europacorp in order the become one of the main shareholders last year and ensure exclusivity on the distribution of all films in the catalogue.
