I can only see Coco making $25m at best in the UK. Coco has underperformed in Europe and English speaking countries in general, so matching Moana's $25m would be nice. I'm hoping Coco can breakout in South Korea. Your Name made $27m because it connected with the audience. If Coco connects like Your Name then maybe it can reach $45m-$50m since it has the Pixar/Disney Brand and is 3d animated.

I think most studios do that tho. I'm sure it will get a release. Universal/WB tried to do the same with Justice League in Mexico and it got a release.

How does a movie determine how many theaters it plays in? On day 38 Coco is in 2104 theaters with a $1344 average, while Tangled was in 2582 theaters on day 38 with a $1266 average. Is it the lack of demand the reason Coco is in less theaters or is it because of Star Wars and Jumanji taking all the theaters? I'm new to this so I don't really know how a movie plays in more or less theaters.

On day 35, Box Office Mojo says Coco is in 2111 theaters while Tangled was in 2582 theaters and Moana was in 2687 theaters.

Japan, Brazil, Korea and Argentina will be the ones to look at to determine if it can get to $795M. Those countries will have to punch well above their weight to pick up the slack that Europe and English Speaking Countries left behind. Either way, $750M would be a great achievement seeing as the only original movies from Pixar that made more than $750M WW unadjusted are Finding Nemo $940M and Inside Out $857M

Coco opened on 11/24/17 and got a extension to 1/23/18 so Avatar will most likely get a extension too imo.
