These movies are still primarily driven by the GA! It’s super important to appeal there

SOF increasing is insane, holy shit what a run it's having
Naturally the show count was supposed to increase this weekend to match my expectations of increasing gross over last weekend

Insidious 20k
Indy 18k
SV2 16k
This is my first time projecting though didn’t go too hard at itWell Elemental was pretty spot on eh @IronJimbo & Sheldon's Son
Also glad to have called mild increase for SoF despite barbenheimer.
Indy+insidious ~matching opp true FSS is, frankly, insane. Those shows ain’t gonna pay off, could have easily made more giving them to Barbie/opp/SoF/MI/Ele instead

I am here for the girls and the trailer looks fun but I am still thinking a fall similar to Wakanda Forever as the first hit a zeitgeist that is hard to recapture, especially with competition in both Dune 2 and Hunger Games, something like 100/260/600 seems about right.
Brie Larson being alive probably helps retain more audience than that as well as CM1 not over performing to nearly as much.

MI7 is likely not topping $600m with a $300m budget, not marketing included. Would anyone on their right minds call that a bomb,
… yes? Literally that’s a flop

It turns out 96% of capacity is too much.
Total ticket sales for today: -65
Extrapolating pace data Barbie will end with a negative domestic total, too bad

Obviously some people have less free time and some have more, but you can always make 4 hours for something you’re really excited about. If there’s medium interest than busyness becomes more of a factor.

Guessing SoF falls into @M37’s gap 👀

I guess we’ll see if Conan causes any issues tomorrow — though it doesn’t look that big — but wed going for ~30% +weekly seems to bode well for wknd to me

Barbie is also doing ridiculous nums in Latam, Europe, Anzac— but Asia has never been expected on board with this one

Wonder if elemental can win a daily before smugglers lmao

Movie aside, its having a pretty spectacular run which is always fun.
Yeah I think it’s pretty obvious why a movie increasing from 20 to 27M in its 2nd weekend would get a lot of positive attention on a boxoffice forum. And the non numerical discussion has been mercifully quarantined

Uhh…. What? It’s because gerrymandering in NY and CA *was* stopped!

I believe it, PIF seems to help supercharge WOM since it lowers the barrier of entry for people to watch the movie who maybe were on the fence. Then if it's good they recommend it and if they really like it they contribute to PIF turning it into a positive feedback loop. Other studios are watching this run with a LOT of interest right now.
I feel like every movie should do PiF? Like what’s the downside?

If you wanted a great run shouldn’t have named the movie MID

What's traditionally the lowest grossing day of the week? For someone newer to following the BO. Would we expect MI7 to fall more on Tuesday?
The “typical” weekday pattern DOM is:
Tues>Mon>wed>th

Yeah but that kind of behavior has been going on forever. I used to do that 20 and 30 years ago. Buy a ticket for Good morning Vietnam which was PG-13 and then sneak into Eddie Murphy's Raw which was rated r and I wasn't old enough to go see it the time LOL
Oh for sure. A bit more appealing when the “good morning Vietnam” is free!

Speaking of elemental weak hold, gonna need actuals to transform that to like 1.28 😁

How does PIF work? Can it be misused to buy tickets for other movies by any chance?
You can only buy a ticket for SoF…
but, like, practically speaking if you get in the door at the theater for the showing of SoF in auditorium 12 and then go see Elemental in auditorium 15 instead very unlikely to be noticed/stopped

Sound of Freedom increasing every single day W2W is reminding me of Elemental's south korea run lmao. If not for Barbenheimer it might have beaten its 20-day streak.
Shameful -73% on day 8 🥱

Look I am simply asking people how big they believe the 8th weekend will be. Asking a week from now is no good because it will have become too obvious and boring.
