Y’know, I alsways said IW’s true Friday was a bit slack. I didn’t realize it was 20M of slack though. It’ set a record just one year ago, and now its true Friday is getting dunked on by some 45%

No it did $60M in *12* hours on a fucking Thursday. Hoping or expecting a bit more was perfectly reasonable, though no one is saying 60 is bad.

Yeah, it’s interesting to beat TFA by like 50% in total presales and 5% on Thursday. Strong suggestion that MCU will still play somewhat like MCU on the weekend trajectory (though obviously a record low MCU internal multi is coming).

Hmmmmm. This is a problem. The top option in my club is supposed to be for the truly deranged, not just the somewhat optimistic. Expect a new tier in a few hours.

Just named 2 two random existing MCU directors. The point being that the only directing duo they currently have is Borden and fleck, so their options will be something like: have one person direct and be flattened like a pancake 2/3rds through production hire a directing duo that’s never been in MCU yet Boden and Fleck some kind of directing team pulled from existing MCU directors, likely based on focal characters and themes of that particular Avengers entry

The crossover films now are so big that they break any single human who tries to direct them. They’ll need to find a new duo or just have it be like Coogler+Gunn co-directed or something.
