  1. if this is getting such good reviews why is the embargo so damn late? so weird
  2. I liked the first trailer but this one is just awful lol the CGI looks bad and some of the lines from venom were corny.... i couldnt decipher what was being said in the trailer
  3. AMC has 175K Alist subscribers ahead of the estimates the chain had for itself. https://variety.com/2018/film/news/amc-moviepass-3-1202890900/
  4. https://variety.com/2018/film/news/amc-moviepass-3-1202890900/ AMC Alist has 175K subscribers already ahead of estimates the company had for itself.
  5. I frequent AMC's mostly now since I discovered I liked dolby for blockbusters and I have a fairly new AMC near me with recliners. There are so many AMC's within 20 mins from me so I guess Im lucky. The AMC at universal has a real IMAX screen, the dolby in burbank is nice, and the location in fallbrook is the closest one to me with recliners. The only thing is that theres an indie movie theater that I got to go to with moviepass that is five mins from my house. They have real butter for popcorn and their concessions are so much cheaper than amc.
  6. AMC was looking to do a subscription service before MP reduced its price, it was slated to launch in December of this year or early in 2019. However, since MP took off they released it sooner and at a lower rate than they originally had planned. They talked to investors and said they know theyll lose money on it the first year, the second year break even, and in the third year start making a profit on it is what they predict. It seems they have plans to keep it. They already have a similar sub in England.
  7. Christopher Robin embargo is the same day as when the movie previews. it will likely get bad reviews.
  8. If you think about it NYC and LA are the most competitive markets with privately owned/indie theaters and a multitude of other chains: Alamo, Pacific, Regal, Cinemark, arc light, etc all competing with each other. AMC now has an advantage by offering this deal and possibly enticing people that usually frequented the other theater chains. Now those customers will most likely stick with AMC since the sub only is for that. That increase in foot traffic will most certainly lead to sales increasing in concessions. Also, I have seen various AMC employees posting on different forums saying that usually the premium showings of the movies were empty besides for MCU opening weekend. Now those will be filled and leave the regular 2D showtimes that people not on A*list are willing to pay for.
  9. Mission impossible in dolby is amazing. That theme song playing on those speakers is orgasmic.
  10. Just That sucks. Until someone mentioned it on this sub I thought at least one AMC was near most people. It seems more people have regals near them than AMC's. There is only one regal I know about in LA.
  11. I guess I should cancel... now? I was keeping it because theres a local theater that places indie and international movies, but now it seems like moviepass will cease to exist. UPDATE: just cancelled. doesn't matter though because the company is going under
  12. Yeah thats weird re sinemia. I had them for about 6 months. They used to send actual credit cards to their customers, but im guessing it wasn't cost effective to do so.
  13. Angela Basset is almost 60 years old too. I hope I age like like her and tom cruise
  14. LMAO so moviepass just isnt showing movies/showtimes in app for A lot of movies at a variety of theaters. The amount on display in app is limited if you check it doesn't reflect what the movie theaters have. Also, $6 was supposed to be their max for surge pricing how are they charging $8? They got rid of the unlisted showtime tab, too - which means this is all on purpose. What a joke.
  15. Dont forget that MM2 had the advantage of having premium formats and still ended up making less. HA!
  16. Dwayne johnson is annoying on twitter when he has a movie out. I dont even follow him and I always happen to see his ridiculous tweets somehow
