If everyone forgets Peter Parker how is he able to get a job, get an apartment etc?

He shouldn't exist in any record.

I feel this is kind of an over correction

too much of a reset maybe but I guess it will be reversed some time in the future. he was pretty much erased from everything, even Happy didn't know he was Aunt May's niece lol.

no way Spider-Man will be left out of the next Avengers movie imo.

  2. judging from the trailer it sounds like Grindelwald will be in even less scenes than in the last movie so this probably won't be the one that shows his duel with Dumbledore. I know they initially wanted this to be a 5 movie story but after the 2nd one wasn't loved by critics & audiences you'd think they will try to wrap up this franchise sooner than later.

anyway as one of the few people who liked the last one (the ending easily won me over with Grindelwald's speech) I'm still excited for what they have in store.

  3. people hate on Jon Watts for making Spider-Man movies look "visually bland or w/e" when most of phase 3 and onwards Marvel films have had that grey filter and audiences liked it every time. so it's a non-issue, it's just how successful blockbuster films have adapted to look like.

a better criticism would be why is Spidey complaining to Doctor Strange about his personal issues instead of trying to solve them by himself. after FFH we were already on track to for Holland to be a more responsible and independent Spider-Man so that plot point felt like a step down to me imo.

  4. I’ll be able to see eternals next week but I refuse to believe that marvel would make a boring or slow paced film ( for the GA) and since hardcore marvel fans seem to like it just fine then it shouldn’t be inaccessible either like dune or something.

so I think the B cinemascore is just another Tenet situation where general audiences couldn’t understand the plot because of its structure so once they pay more attention or rewatch it they’ll come around to it.

unlike The B CS that BvS got where it simply was just poorly received even when the plot was very clear.

  5. with Eternals out of the way I'm thinking the next 6 MCU films could be doing 3x of The Incredible Hulk's OW since all of them are highly anticipated sequels. 166M+ should be within reach for Spidey, Doctor Strange and Black Panther and while I don't know much about Guardians 3 it still has that May Marvel slot so it should also do it.

if any of them would miss I would say it's either Thor or The Marvels especially how the latter doesn't sound like a direct sequel but I haven't heard much else about these two so who knows.

it's exciting how the next non-sequel MCU film will be the Fantastic Four!

  6. I doubt this will go rotten if the avg rating stays 6/10.   and as long as we get 10M> previews the box office will be fine imo.

they shouldn't make another movie that introduces 10 new characters again though. that's a risk that's bound to fail if we're suppose to care about every single character of the ensemble.  maybe 2.5 hours wasn't long enough. which reminds of ZS Justice League which only had to juggle 3-4 new characters (+ the 3 we had from BvS) but benefitted alot from the 4 hour run-time.

  7. yeah the avg rating is what's worrying, when most of the positive reviews are only lukewarm 6/10s. it doesn't bode well for the movie to make a comeback over like 80%+.  certified fresh is still possible though imo.

so when it comes to RT Aquaman comps might be better than Joker's.  that movie had a messy script and insane amount of ridiculous exposition but was saved by James Wan's direction and stellar action sequences, (enough for it to be top 3 CBM of 2018 at least ).

but yeah critics usually don't respond well to movies with problematic exposition. even Interstellar couldn't survive it.

  8. professional critics reviews have 0 effect on blockbusters ' box office btw, this will still open to 90-105M next week despite critics being low on it.

Venom 2 was more panned and opened to 90M few weeks ago.

and iirc TSS is best reviewed CBM of the year and it's the biggest superhero bomb since 2017 Justice League.

imo when it comes to blockbusters critics reviews don't effect WoM/BO. when good box office correlates with good reviews it's more likely to be a coincidence than a direct causation.

This film probably had the least Feige input, I can bet on that. Chloe will deliver just wait.

I know blockbuster and indie filmmaking are two different beasts but Chloe's last 2 films were universally acclaimed and one of them won best picture, so I wouldn't put this muted critics response on her. she was probably held down by the script (which she only co-wrote) since exposition and underdeveloped characters are the main complaints.
