  1. where are the numbers for The Prodigy? after watching the movie I have a feeling it'll break out to a double digit weekend that Lego number (2.1M including early sneaks) is pretty disappointing considering it's still less than Lego Batman (2.2M) despite having longer Thursday previews (5PM vs 4PM) and early sneak peeks from Jan. a sub 50M weekend will be underwhelming.
  2. does this number bode well for Captain Marvel's 150M OW chances?
  3. good increase from yesterday! I wonder how much the pre-sales will go up after today's Endgame superbowl spot which will (hopefully) probably feature Captain Marvel
  4. good noms all around. hope Leave No Trace/ASIB and Toni Collette win everything ...and why is the best animated feature noms here about the same as the Oscar noms with the only anime movie getting nominated as Mirai because it was also nominated for other awards. I know this is mainly an American/Hollywood forum but do People here not watch anime? there were few anime movies that were better than Mirai that came out last year. Liz and the Blue Bird or I Want to Eat Your Pancreas for example though none of them was as good as Your Name which was snubbed 2 years ago
  5. if the rumors about The Rock not joining Fast 9 are true then this is def happening. Vin Diesel can't carry a F&F movie alone if his life depended on it. I hope the rumors aren't true tho. more of the rock is always good
  6. Fast & Furious meets Superheroes they're really going more over the top with this one. Idris Elba looks badass and Shaw is cool af. hope it does a billion
  7. idk if the deadline is already up since it's almost Feb 1st around here but I'm submitting anyway when Toni Collette doesn't win best actress
  8. good for Blunt on winning best supporting actress (for a role that she was a lead in but w/e). She could've had a real shot at winning best supporting at the Oscars if she got the nom since she already beat most of the Oscar supporting actress noms at the SAG except for Regina King and the girl from Roma.
  9. I hope Nolan goes back to make mystery/crime thrillers like The Prestige and The Dark Knight. 🤞 fingers crossed that this isn't another sci-fi
  10. what was wrong with the original release date? it didn't have much competition did they just want a holiday release?
  11. So Mary Poppins Returns won't be Emily Blunt's highest grossing movie of 2018 in the states.. how did that happen I know A Quiet Place was fantastic and a huge breakout hit but it still only made $188M, Poppins should've made more, Maybe an Oscar nomination could push it over AQP? Either way 2018 was a great year for Emily Blunt at the box office, her best actually. could 2020 beat it? She'll have A Quiet Place 2 and The Rock's Jungle Cruise.
