  1. But social media reactions are usually mostly fluff. It's not the hardcore critics but people who were invited. They are ALWAYS elevated. Even Eternals had good social media reactions. The real question is when will the critics post their reviews on RT?
  2. Yeah, looking at the proper Friday and Saturday for MoM, BPWF should top those. And hopefully it will have a smaller Sunday drop than MoM.
  3. The BPWF comparison to DSMoM seems to be getting better and better and it looks like it's making quick gains on MoM. Does it have a chance to eventually make more in previews than MoM?
  4. If is enough to boost Black Adams' box office whatsoever, then I imagine that
  5. Any updated BPWF comps besides JWDominion? (DSMom? ThLT? Batman?) And now that we are a month away from release, will there be NWH comps? ( I believe those tix went on sale a month before release).
  6. I've really liked the last 2 episodes. Shame they are now saying season 2 will take 2 years. They may end up cutting the series down to 3 seasons at this point.
  7. This may sound tacky, corny, or whatever, but with the heart, soul, passion, love, and emotion that the cast and Coogler so very clearly poured into this project, there may be an internal psychological affinity toward it from many critics. Such that it may actually be subconsciously difficult for some critics NOT to give it very good to great reviews. The phase 4 MCU films that had poor to lackluster reviews had them for specific reasons. DSMoM: did not live up to the hype of having Wanda and cut short the cameos people wanted to see. The movie was all over the place. ThorLT: criticism was too much goofy jokes that were out of place and overdone Eternals: just felt WAY off and was, well, weird Black Widow was in between. I enjoyed it mostly, but didn't feel that connected to it. It was delayed and delayed and delayed due to unfortunate acts of nature. But audiences really liked it. Shang-Chi and No Way Home were both very well reviewed. Likewise, they were both very likeable and re-watchable. Their stories were very straight forward and offered something. The trailers for BPWF were both extremely well received based on videos and social media. If the film delivers the same emotions and feel of the trailers, the movie will be very well liked and should have decent to great legs (at least until Avatar2 wreaks its havoc), no matter the OW numbers.
  8. They're (Feige) probably configuring who plays a role in Secret Wars and who needs to be featured before that movie comes out. And, if one of the slots is a sequel, then something about their story needs to be told before Secret Wars. Candidates for 2025: Armor Wars (pretty much a given) Shang Chi 2 Black Panther 3 Spiderman 4 Nova (if they make it a movie) Eternals 2 (who knows what they plan for that one) Doctor Strange 3 Thor 5 with Hercules or.....an interesting take would be a Namor movie
  9. 2/4 are empty. I posted before I saw the DP3 move. But still, 11/23 and 11/25 are free. Not sure they can squeeze anything into 11/23 (unless that will be a new The Marvels date), but 11/25 being open and only 2 other movies out that year seems to indicate they have SOMETHING else planned. Could be the Armor Wars movie. Now that I think about it, all of these changes were announced soon after they said AW would be a movie.
  10. Okay yeah I saw that. They have something in mind for the fall 2025. Maybe a third BP movie or second Shang Chi movie. Or something completely different. Something needs to fit in between the Avengers movies.
  11. I tried that once, figuring that maybe I could contribute with a few theaters in Houston (not a good city to do a sampling because it is so big). I gave up after counting in one theater LOL.
  12. Do people manually count seats to compile this data, or do they have inside information or computers that somehow do it? Because doing it manually for a city MUST be absolutely painful!!! @Jeightthe only hook is seeing the Rock as a superhero and whether people want that. This is the case of being about the actor and not the character.
  13. @Wolverpool XXRThank you! One more question. If a alleged blockbuster like BPWF doesn't do gangbusters in its, say, first 3 days, does that tend to mean that sales will be more spread out than movies that break records in its first 3 days (like No Way Home or the Thanos films)? Just wondering whether BPWF will be more spread out than, say, DSMOM.
  14. Call me feeble minded, but I never understood how comps work. For example: 1.18x Thor L&T Day 5 (58.47M) Does this mean that BPWF has sold 1.18 times as many tickets this far out than TLT sold this far out? (or I should say 5 days past when tickets went on sale?). And thus the number in parentheses is an extrapolated total if the same rate of sales took place? I just wonder if the numbers shown in parentheses are constantly in motion based on daily changes (which won't change much until we get to the last week). It also seems that TWO movie franchises/genres generate huge day 1-3 ticket sales. That being superhero movies and Star Wars movies.(which is why JWD is so damn weak). We will probably be able to add Avatar to that list, but there is no precedent for Avatar yet. Add to that, I am confused as to whether the numbers in parentheses take into consideration what walk-ups could be based on previous data. Hope these questions make sense. Really, it's just a matter of whether the numbers or parentheses are ONLY the pre-sale numbers based on the movies being compared on the same day of sales.
  15. Well of course not if we look at JWD numbers. But I just figured we'd ignore those. I wish there was a guide to understanding all the box office tracking numbers and abbreviations LOL.
  16. The movie isn't nearly as bad as many claim. A few tweaks and one more movie between this and TLJ and he movie would have been pretty good. It needed: 1. More hints of Palpatine's return (Kylo keeps hearing voices after Snoke's death and goes searching for the source leading him to the wayfinder) 2. Finn leading a real stormtrooper rebellion (changes a few trooper minds who then rally others when he and Jannah are at their most vulnerable.) 3. Flashback scene with Luke, Leia, Han, Chewie, and even Lando celebrating Kylo's birth-Leia puts that image in Kylo's mind) 4. Leia and Ben reunited in afterworld. 5. A proper epilogue, erection of a Leia statue on Coruscant. Okay that's a lot but we can still make TROS work.
  17. What % of total tickets for the first weekend are made up by pre-sales on average? (particularly at this point in time-about a month before release?
  18. Those JWD comp numbers are pretty funny. I can hardly understand how these comps work, but they are still pretty funny to look at. Go $1.5 billion domestic total! LOL
