What’s crazy is that none of the other studios eyeballed this weak December and moved something here. They all happily let WB run the table even though this line up appeared to be weak even before the supers collapse and Ghostbusters moving.
I think the obvious choice would have been Mean Girls

Very odd no Taylor numbers for Tuesday.

Couple of numbers in, and so far nothing has held better than -50% vs last Fri. Paw Patrol best at -52%, followed by ERAS at -54%.
KOTFM, Creator, Haunting, Nun II all -60% or worse. Combo of FNAF and pre-Halloween weekend knocked everything down
Exorcist -41%

News Alert! They made a 3rd Big Fat Greek Wedding
It looks fun enough, honestly, this should have been the second movie.

Barbie needs to make $10.2 on Thursday, then, to pass Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and become the #1 comedy of all time at the domestic box office.
Should be doable.
-
Man, I hope Haunted Mansion manages to not get crushed, it was terrific.

Within the next few days, Barbie will already be the highest grossing film of Will Ferrell’s career.

Wonder how many PLFs will stick with Barbie and/or MI over Haunted Mansion.
I believe Haunted Mansion is taking the Dolbys and the 4DX.

Insane to realize that The Little Mermaid won’t even be the #1 movie of the summer to have mermaids in it.

I would argue this summer hasn't been too bad, 2014 was a lot worse.
It’s more of a mixed bag like 2016

Does Inside Out still have the record for best weekend for a second place movie?
it did just over $90m if I recall

What was the last BIG pure comedy to do gangbusters? Something tells me it was 22 Jump Street which would be very depressing.
The Jumanjis?

Any chance Disney reports numbers for Pirates?
-
So we have any idea if Disney will be reporting grosses for Pirates this weekend?
it’s been doing decently at one of the two local theaters, and nearly full at Disney Springs, and that’s without $5 tickets.
-
Pirates of the Caribbean has sold 197 tickets for tomorrow at Disney Springs.
Impressive even for a theater on Disney property since it’s not even a $5 favorite. (Tickets are $9.79 after tax)

So now that Disney and WB have put out actual for Flash and Elemental…
Sony should have no problem throwing a few Spideybucks in JLaw’s pot to keep Spidey #1 and put NHF above Flash.

Dead Man's Chest opened to 133 million in 2006.
I think there's a lots of love for POTC franchise, Atleast the first three, crazy to tag it with twilight.
135.6, actually, it broke the opening weekend record by over $20 million dollars.
It was also the first movie to make $100 million in two days.
The first PotC was widely beloved, it played for months and was a big WOM hit, and people were hungry for the sequel.

That jump for About My Father is the box office story of the year!🙄
-
That drop for Machine has to be because it’s also a Sony release and it’s probably getting showtimes taken from it by them.
saw it last night and it was almost full, it’s very funny.
the About my Father number must be even worse, Machine is outselling it over 2 to 1 near me.

Just got out. It’s pretty good. Way better than I expected. I think audiences are going to lap this up, and Halle Bailey is terrific.
Decent preview number but can’t believe word of mouth won’t be very solid for it. I expect good legs.
Both part of your world and under the sea got applause at the end, and big applause at the end of the movie.

The lack of a Fools Paradise number is surprising, it can’t have done that bad.
It was doing a bit better than Blackberry near me.
-
Still waiting for numbers from Blackberry and Fool’s Paradise?

The good news for DnD is it shouldn’t lose too many theaters, there’s a lot of fat to cut elsewhere.

Even with the group sales, it’s baffling that Color Purple was this frontloaded
