  1. Funny, because from what I've read people who interview or meet him talk about how surprisingly nice he is. Though admittedly he does come across as awkward in some of his actual interviews, if that's the reason people don't vote for him... *sigh*
  2. Drive is a critics movie so of coruse it gets lots of love from them. With the Oscars I don't see it going much further than brooks and an outside chance at categories like sound, editing and score.

  4. Also I hope something good comes out of this late Nick Nolte resurgence. Maybe Von Sydow not showing up is a sign that his performance isn't as OMFG amazing as the early screenings suggested. And these could prove what I said yesterday about Close and Mara having no buzz is true.
  5. SAG is tomorrow. And there are NO nominations that could annoy me more than hers.
  6. The Artist just got a nomination from the critics choice btw.
  7. Well if it doesn't get nominated for this award I think ts no longer the Best picture frontrunner. Simple as that for me.
  8. To be honest though, the artist is only in there because it's currently the Best Picture frontrunner....
  9. ...and? I think more than 2 would be enough.
  10. San Diego announced their nominations, on my phone so I can't c/p it into this thread, so if someone else could do that.. But in the mean time here's the gist of it.-The Artist, and Hugo got a bunch of nominations. *gasp*-Drive gets another BP mention-Andy Serkis gets another SA mention.-That awesome performance from Nick Nolte in Warrior that everyone, including myself, completely forgot about got a mention.-Carey Mulligan but not the Fass gets nommed for Shame.
  11. Just found out this beautiful song from Hugo is original. Anyone think it has a chance?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAewLIMuVYA

  13. The SAG nomiantions are on wednesday (right?) so I guess i can throw out a predicition as to what the ensemble noms will actually be:The ArtistThe DescendantsExtremely Loud and Incredibly CloseThe HelpTinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy
  14. Michel Hazanavicius - The ArtistStephen Daldry - Extremely Loud and Incredibly CloseMartin Scorsese - HugoBennnet Miller - MoneyballSteven Spielberg - War HorseRight now this looks like a race between the French filmmaker who made a movie about American cinema and the American filmmaker who made a movie about French cinema.
  15. Adapted:The DescendantsExtremely Loud and Incredibly CloseMoneyballTinker, Tailor, Soldier, SpyWar HorseSeems this race will be between Moneyball and Descendants. Should be an interesting one.Original:The ArtistBridesmaids50/50Midnight in ParisYoung AdultMargin Call could easily make it in there. That movie seems to be surprisingly picking up a lot of steam.
  16. Cate Blanchett was terrible... my god!Someone tell Noctis that Alan Rickman finally got a nomination!
  17. I think I shall throw out a prediction before SAG, Globes and BFCA all announce nominees in the next couple of days.Bérénice Bejo - The ArtistCarey Mulligan - ShameVanessa Redgrave - CoriolanusOctavia Spencer - The HelpShailene Woodley - The Descendants Kicking out Chastain because she's just in too many films and will probably split her vote. Mulligan seems to be on the rise, if voters watch Shame for Fassbender they're going to end up seeing her supposedly great performance as well. We can all pray that... *gulp* Melissa McCarthy isn't given anymore attention at least...
  18. I think I shall throw out a prediction before SAG, Globes and BFCA all announce nominees in the next couple of days.George Clooney - The DescendantsJean Dujardin - The ArtistMichael Fassbender - ShameGary Oldman - Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, SpyBrad Pitt - MoneyballI think Michael Shannon is on the rise. There's a potential for him to knock out Fass or Oldman. I still think it's going to be Clooney's to lose.
  19. I think I shall throw out a prediction before SAG, Globes and BFCA all announce nominees in the next couple of days.Albert Brooks - DriveBen Kingsley - HugoPatton Oswalt - Young AdultChristopher Plummer - BeginnersMax Von Sydow - Extremely Loud and Incredibley CloseNo real change here, so far it seems it's between Plummer and Brooks. I'd give Plummer the edge because Brook's is more of a "critic's performance" than Plummer's.
  20. I think I shall throw out a prediction before SAG, Globes and BFCA all announce nominees in the next couple of days.Viola Davis - The HelpMeryl Streep - The Iron LadyTilda Swinton - We Need To Talk About KevinCharlize Theron - Young AdultMichelle Williams - My Week With MarilynI think Glenn is out because she's so far been ignored and after seeing the film I realise that there's nothing special about the performance. Rooney Mara.... I don't know, call it a hunch but I'm just not feeling it for her.
