  1. “this type of fun is what has been missing in blockbuster movies lately.” is this satire? I understand being hyped but making statements like these ?😂😂this is as generic and casual as it gets literally 9 out of 10 blockbuster trailer look like this these day
  2. So how is Ghostbusters looking? Is it looking to end up on par with the previous movies mid 40’s opening?
  3. The box office expectations in this thread are actually realistic. Especially with the BLAH creative team behind. This is an IP that needed a A List director, none of this “you directed a good Disney + show so here’s a big movie for you.” F4 to me are like The Justice Society, doesn’t matter how iconic they are there just perceived as uncool by the GP, and 3 flop movies being their first appearance doesn’t help. It would take a master to find that perfect balance of updating and making them relevant while at the same time keeping their essence. also the fact that they’re arriving in this mess of a multiverse storyline dampers it even more. This would be a different vibe if they along the Rebooted X men were leading a post Endgame era. Like why are getting fresh F4 while still holding on to Fox Men?
  4. I think it’s more in salary than production, if you’re Reynold coming into this you’re not asking less than $30M
  5. But Twitter and the internet in general is Ryan Reynold’s turf, this isn’t a Scorcese movie. Anyway Beyonce is dropping the movie so she’s overshadowing everyone now anyway.
  6. I mean does Ryan Reynold and Deadpool really need Nickelodeon to trend🤔his whole marketing brand is literally designed for online domination.
  7. Shocking it’s not trending at all. A Deadpool movie let alone a hyped one like this one not trending is just wow. Especially when movies like Twister or Wicked were able to enter the top20
  8. Well with an audience score in the 60’s and an awful C+ cinemascore it does definitely look like a 35% on RT movie🤷🏽‍♂️
  9. You know what will have been great? if Apple were the ones to buyout the Knives out franchise
  10. Vaughn has an extremely abrasive personality, he thinks the world of himself and act as if he’s Scorsese second coming. Nolan also has aloofness to him but Nolan got the credit to back it up. Vaughn makes visually boring fanboy fair with middling reviews yet he always has that condescending tone when discussing other filmmakers, actors or franchises.
  11. Is she? Film twitter isn’t real life. According to film twitter Jacob Elolrdi is a superstar yet his box office numbers are non existent. She got small rom com hit and all of sudden she’s deemed bigger? at the end of the day only one person in that cast is the face of a $1B franchise and that’s Dakota
  12. Didn’t DC delivered an Oscar winning highest grossing Rated R movie of all time? Even on TV Watchmen is BY FAR the most critically acclaimed comic show witha slew of Emmys. They’ve done filled it lol to act as if this weak Disney + stuff is Marvel “having the balls” is laughable.
  13. This doesn’t look too good. Or maybe it just me being over the whole Ryan Reynolds schtik. It’s has become beyond unappealing at this point.
  14. I do agree that the fandango list is mostly useless although I think that Beetlejuice 2 will be very big . it’s a rare case of an extremely well known and beloved IP yet criminally underutilized. They had what an animated show and a musical. That’s it. Yet the movie is revered as classic and introduced “being weird is cool” to a whole generation. With the right marketing campaign (which is imperative) this movie has biggest movie of the year potential. i grew up in Congo didn’t watch the movie until i was way into adulthood. But even I since my childhood know “Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice…” you can’t buy that type of pop culture recognition.
  15. So yesterday at the movie there was a very cute WB trailer encompassing Wonka, Aquamomoa and TCP, it was pretty much; this Christmas come celebrate the holiday with WB then ineterlooped footage of their 3 movies. I thought it was very cute. With everyone and their mama trying to cringely remake Barberneimher WB definitely showed a lot of restraint not having a full blown ”The Color Purple of the Wonkaman” marketing campaign.
  16. I know it’s just presales but why is Migration performing so low. Some were expecting the usual Universal upset and even maybe taking down Aquaman 2. Is there a chance of a breakout?
  17. Anecdotal. But i saw more than couple churches in my area organizing movie trips after the Christmas sermons. If the stars align this could bring out an underserve but powerful demographic, the mature black woman.
  18. A $30M for this movie would be fantastic, between that lucrative holiday corridor and the Oscar buzz it could translates into a $150M dom total.
  19. Are you not getting that “shutting down” for a strike or Covid isn’t actually shutting down they still have those many underwhelming projects in the pipeline waiting to release. Slowing down pace meant actual slow down in the development process with LESS actually being greenlit. Saying that you will release the next 10 projects over 5 years vs 2 years isn’t slowing down if anything its just making things worse, because the only thing you’re slowing down is the overall story you’re telling thus making fans even more angry. Like people are complaining that Multiverse saga is boring and uninteresting instead of wrapping up lets give them a year long narrative break then continue again. That’ rubbish.
  20. What? Literally no one ask them to delay stuff. The critic was to slow down and not putting out too much. However delaying the millions of projects is not slowing down it’s just delaying the inevitable. That’s like putting the trash under the bed and claim you cleaned your room. why are people acting as if them delaying the slate is them slowing down? Those are still produced, a real slow down would be an actual cap on productions per year.
  21. it’s not that people remember the older movies. I think one the main issue is that, as much as fanboys love them and know how important they are to Marvel, to the general public the Fantastic Four are just corny and dated and highly uncool. Pretty much like Marvel’s version of the Justice Society. So they’ll have to perfectly balance the whole staying true to the source material but also making them somewhat cool and relevant to the modern audience. Which is not impossible to do, Captain America was perceived as uncool and now he’s a pop culture staple. On the other side of that argument tho’ you have the Justice Society in Black Adam which was clearly stripped of its essence to make them “cool” and they ended up being uber generic.
  22. Abbot would have been a risk. He has way too many potential skeletons in a closet PR wise. No one really came for him because he as yet to be in something huge, so being in a Marvel movie would have definitely be the occasion for that scandalous THR expose. it’s nothing inherently bad or illegal but let’s just say, these days, being a playboy and sleeping around as a public figure can be very risky.
  23. It is an interesting premise indeed. But the whole thing is cheapened out by the fact the trailer is near 100% exposition true awful narration.
