  1. Yep, some of those shows will be in 3D too. There'll also be early access shows for Ezra on April 28 and Back to Black on May 15.
  2. We keep a spreadsheet of up-to-date ticketing start dates, IF is on there.
  3. They clearly like the character based on all the screaming they did in the theater at the end of the last one, so it’s fair to say that they probably know the backstory. I think my point still largely stands.
  4. I feel pretty good about the theatrical space. I liked how 2023 turned out and I really like how 2025 is shaping up. A steady stream of big product is all that's needed (and it looks like that's coming), proven already by plenty of multi-week periods from the past couple years. A normal slate of movies would have Abigail/Monkey Man/Lisa Frankenstein be the B-openers of the week, not the biggest new titles. This weekend, and the others like it this year, won't bother me. The new flicks all did about what I thought they'd do. Maybe my expectations were low? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  5. But who is saying this will be the last film? The producers have made it clear they fully intend to keep going after this, and I doubt it's going to flop so bad to make them cancel everything. And how does one even do no Maria death? Studios have done implied, and even non-graphic on-screen deaths by gunshot wounds and explosions in other PG-rated films (Spider-Verse, Big Hero 6, even the first Sonic movie had the implied deaths of a near-entire echidna tribe and the owl mom). I'm certainly not trying to be rude or argumentative, but I think you're tremendously off-base on this. It's way riskier for the movie to veer into a wildly different direction with a character's origin story (Hell, the whole foundation of the character) than to just stick with it. Kids have played these games, they know the character, they know what's coming. The creatives might make some alterations, they might have it just be implied, but based on how they've been true to the source material so far, it's very likely going to happen.
  6. White Bird is already set on that date, another family title. Joker 2 will be taking all the largest screens even if it caters to a different audience, probably best to avoid it regardless and let Lionsgate take the risk. I expect this to shift a week back to the 27th (Abominable opened on the last week of Sep before a Joker movie back in 2019) or to October 11th. Otherwise, maybe a move all the way to early 2025 (might be seen as excessive, but it's not unprecedented).
  7. I didn't see this on Tribute.ca, Box Office Mojo, or The-Numbers! This is what I meant a while back, a lot of these numbers either aren't getting picked up, or they're getting posted late and there aren't a lot of resources out there willing to go back and add them to the weekend. Aggggh!
  8. Iconic Events Releasing put the movie out, and they frequently don't report box office numbers for their titles. They put The Prank out about a month ago and never gave any data for that one either.
  9. Kinda happening, sorta. Some chains are including it in their summer kids movie series for its 20th. Here’s Marcus’ listing, for example.
  10. Tarot on sale April 10 Back to Black on sale April 22
  11. Heads up: this may end up being another late night Lionsgate ticket drop. Maybe around 9pm PST Apr 2/Midnight EST Apr 3.
  12. Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare tix on sale April 2 Early access shows play April 13
  13. The Mummy 25th anniversary re-release opens April 26. This is a full re-release, not a one-night-only thing. Will keep an eye on the ticket date.
  14. General ticket sales for Unsung Hero have begun today at some major chains, the early access has been on sale for quite some time. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes early access PLF shows on May 8th.
  15. That theater chain didn't end up putting them on sale on the 22nd and did indeed move their sale date to tomorrow, the 26th. Looks like there was an error over there, so no worries now.
  16. Angel Studios' next movie Sight goes on sale March 27.
  17. It's still very much a thing. This new movie opens with the logo.
  18. 86 does not normally match A-. B+ is the norm for that score. Shazam 2 is the better comp, that has the same verified RT audience score. If it leans more toward families, an A- is still possible, but this is not a good start and certainly doesn't suggest strong word-of-mouth.
