That's a good thing. I like to have more control. If I want random stuff then I can make that conscious decision. The glorification of scarcity is so strange.

Personally I like nostalgia when it adds to something that is good already. I don't like it when it's used as a substitute for story. But if the movie is both fun and entertaining on its own and gives some nostalgia, what's the problem? You can do the same thing by just picking random movies on streaming.

Hawkeye as a straight man works surprisingly well. It does remind me of a very similar scene or promo in FATWS, though I think the vibe here works a bit better.

Or they saw the opportunity to make big money from nostalgia while simultaneously setting up the next big arc in the MCU. I don't see why they would lack confidence in the new series after both of the previous entries were well-received.

If a film underperforms then Deadline will be right, basically.

I don't think Feige decides based on some online fans when both of the previous films were well-received by general audiences. More likely they decided that Spidey would be a good way to introduce the multiverse to a wider audience.

I assure you plenty of people liked the prequels before the memes. The difference is before the memes if you said you liked the movies people would jump down your throat recommending the garbage videos from the Red Letter Morons and trying to convince you that they are "objectively bad" and you are "objectively wrong." Now with the memes people chilled out a bit.

Yep. Part of the reason why I'm definitely going to see it regardless of how I find the trailers.

Best part of the trailer (other than Foxx's Electro): "You're flying out into the darkness to fight ghosts" and the accompanying swinging shot. Wish more of it had that vibe.

Nahhh, Hawkeye is an OG Avenger, will have more hype from that alone. Trailer performed very well too, people like the Christmas theme.

I disagree that this is simply the same visuals we have seen in the MCU. Something about that fight in the tower just doesn't look right. Everything else is okay for me visually but that tower just looks really bad. This coming from someone who liked FFH visuals. Still, I went into Eternals with zero expectations and ended up really enjoying it. Will do the same here.

I think it's worse if you are a book reader. For non book readers probably the former (though haven't watched Witcher just going by the reviews).

Yep (probably a bit higher). But based on the insane start, if they had shown the big shot, 400m would have been done easily. Will have to settle for 250-280m I suppose. This one didn't really show that much more than what we knew from the first trailer so a fairly hefty drop makes sense.

Massive start, but checking Twitter/Insta views expect that ultimately won't match the teaser's 24 hr views. Still, really huge for a trailer 2.
