  1. The Weeknd has been the #1 artist on Spotify for a while now, not for nothing.
  2. I can't stand Taylor Swift. She's always come across extremely fake, and she weaponizes her rabid fanbase. Her music is also shallow and dull.
  3. So what's this tracking to open at? I don't wanna read through 20 pages of bickering lol
  4. Very weird they're overhauling the TV side when mcu fans repeatedly tell us nothing is wrong, the shows are all great and popular. Has Feige consulted with them?
  5. I'll just be happy when I never have to see the trailer again. It's replaced gran turismo trailer. It's in front of every single movie I see, doesn't matter the genre.
  6. So sue me, but I liked this well enough. I don't know maybe I'm weird but I also liked Halloween Kills and Ends. DDG style just vibes with me. I love his visual style, i love the mean streak that seems to run through his films. Sure, end of the day this was another possession movie and we have seen dozens of them. It's not reinventing the wheel. And yeah DDG IS kind of repeating himself with them themes from Kills and Ends in this, and a sub plot with a character is also similar to Kills. It's not perfect but it looks nice, it's well acted, it had a couple of a surprises in it and I enjoyed the possession scenes. 6/10
  7. Saw Exorcist and enjoyed it well enough. But the best part of the film was that I went with like 6 family members including my mother. Near the climax of the film the possessed girls do something and my mother throws up her hands and loudly proclaims "JUST KILL THE KIDS ALREADY!" Theatre busted out laughing.
  8. Got my tickets for Sunday. My only bar im hoping for is being better than prey for the devil and Pope's Exorcist. Though tbh, I actually liked popes exorcist well enough because Crowe is awesome. Then again I liked unhinged for the same reason as the schlock it was but Crowe was COMMITTED.
  9. This set up at the theatre gave me a chuckle https://ibb.co/fxCH1WT
  10. I had no problem with any of the acting in this. But this place seems to have a hate boner for JDW that I don't understand at all.
  11. I thought the creator was a solid sci fi action film. Don't expect anything deep or profound about it. Real pretty to look at. It's in line with Elysium. Whether that sounds good or terrible to you I don't know but I enjoyed Elysium for what it was.
  12. I enjoyed this. Surprised at the hate. But then again I still can't wrap my head around the hate for JDW because I've liked him in everything I've seen in him. I guess if the expectations are a heady, philosophical sci fi film I could see being let down. It's more of a straight forward sci fi blockbuster that has interesting ideas but doesnt really treat them beyond surface level thinking. Closet comparison I can make is Elysium which I also enjoyed for what it was. I don't know, I just thought it was an enjoyable 7/10 ans that's what my expectations had always been for it. Gareth Edwards can shoot a beautiful film. He struggles with the human drama parts and that keeps him separated from being a great director and more in line with a solid one. He can make a better looking film with $80M than a lot of directors can make with $200M
  13. Really enjoyed this. I don't know if it's my personal favorite, but it's definitely in the conversation for top 3 with Saw 1 and 6. I can see why it reviewed well though. I don't think there's much debate that from a film making perspective, this was the most well made film of the franchise. Also the best acted. Particularly Tobin Bell who treated this like it was Shakespeare. And really he is the lynch pin.
  14. Yeah 7 is the worst for me. No doubt it.
  15. Disappointing sure, missing expectations sure. A Flop? Not at all. You can't call movies that made 6× their budget a flop. Flops lose money. This did not. Any movie making that much money on that budget would never be called a flop. Sure, it was a prudent move to make as they assumed the franchise was pointing downwards and needed to wrap it up, so speed up the end and minimize any potential future losses.
  16. I wouldn't say Saw 6 flopped at all. $11M budget and made $70M. He got screwed really badly for Saw 7 though. Getting that paranormal activity film stripped from him because of studio politics and pettiness.
  17. All I know is that Ive seen trailers for this movie about 6 or 7 times now at the theatre and every time it goes over like a lead balloon. I'm sure it'll do well OW domestic, but I think it's gonna top out at $500M or so WW.
  18. Cavill's hair looks very stupid and this trailer and set up of the movie just seemed way too similar to the lost city. Don't think my hype for a film has ever deflated faster after seeing a trailer than this. All I heard was Vaughn spy thriller with cavill and I was in. But this? I'm good.
  19. I'd be thrilled with anything above 40% on RT personally I've always felt like Saw franchise was unfairly and harshly criticized. I think the only 3 truly bad films are 7, jigsaw and spiral. But I'm a big fan so I'm bias. I just think they benefit a lot from being marathoned because of how they are structured.
