Why's the logo smaller than the tagline? -
I didn't pay much attention to the GRRM X From Software rumors since they came from Liam Robertson and Spawn Wave, but they're gaining traction now with GRRM's blog post and a report from Gematsu and I'm fucking stoked for whatever the hell FromSoft is cooking up

The Box Office Buzz and Tracking Thread: Electric Boogaloo

The Captain Underpants movie is a guilty pleasure for me. I shouldn't find it that funny, but I do for some reason. -

Grinch was a huge success last year, so I think Illumination still has it. It's just that the first Secret Life of Pets wasn't compelling enough to get that audience to return for the sequel. The same thing will happen with Sing 2 and maybe Minions 2. -

Good at making money, not good at making compelling movies -

I forgot about the Pharrell musical. That should do well. Illumination's recent new IP debuts have been pretty successful. -

I doubt Disney is shifting back to original properties out of the kindness of its heart. Creating new beloved IPs is better in the long-run. They can only milk so much from their current properties. They need to find new successes, not just rely on their old ones (which is why we have the annual Disney live-action flop). -

SLoP 2's budget is probably around the first's budget ($75M), so it's basically flop-proof. Still, I think Illumination was hoping for a result closer to the original SLoP than the Lorax. -

Their upcoming slate is Minions 2, Sing 2, and Despicable Me 4 in that order, right? The former two should see similar decreases to SLoP2. Despicable Me 4 should do pretty well, though. Mario is also a potential new heavy-hitting franchise for Illumination. -

Technically it is completely animated -
They cray cray too. Hopefully nobody ITT actively buys Avatar 2 tickets to try to beat Endgame

The final trailer for SLoP2 was pretty good... but it only has like 5% of the views of the first full trailer. -
I'm partial to Sonic Adventure over its sequel because it tries to replicate the visual style and atmosphere of the classic Sonic games more so than most other 3D Sonic games except Heroes and Lost World and does it better than those two. It deserves a remake with modern visuals and QoL improvements, but I'm not sure Sonic Team can be trusted to actually improve on the original with a remake.
