  1. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised since it's the Marvel Studios subreddit, but I still can't wrap my head around why people brag about financially supporting a $20 billion franchise. Fandom is one hell of a drug, I guess
  2. If the social media reactions are any indication, the critical reception for Aladdin shouldn't even be that bad. No idea why Disney put the embargo so late
  3. TPM wasn't as bad as people make it out to be. It didn't leave much of an impression on me other than the duel with Darth Maul, though.
  4. We should at least wait until Memorial Day weekend before doomposting about Endgame, though Avatar's chances are looking a lot better than they did on Endgame's OW
  5. How did the channel for the top video get a rip of the soundtrack months before release? Are you sure it isn't fan-made?
  6. Admittedly, alternating between Avatar and Star Wars as the big Christmas release is a pretty neat idea.
  7. I'm probably gonna make a Mortal Kombat reboot > Pikachu WW club at some point. I don't see He-Man doing well enough for an interesting fight
  8. 88% with 23 reviews. I think it will even out to high 70s or low 80s. https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/rocketman_2019
  9. >$70M would be a steep drop from the original SLoP's opening. Doesn't seem like many people cared enough about the original to show up for the sequel. Good thing Illumination is so good at keeping its budget low. I suspect Minions 2 and Sing 2 will see similar drops from their predecessors. Illumination might not have another big win until potentially the Mario movie in 2022.
  10. John Wick 3 will definitely be one, Endgame probably the other. Pikachu might not make it if it drops hard, though.
  11. If social media and box office results had any serious correlation, Pika Pika would have made that Pokebillion.
  12. I guess you don't count Disney's annual live-action flops (A Wrinkle in Time, Nutcracker, Artemis Fowl, etc.) as risks?
  13. The MCU would transcend Disney's Memorial Day curse. Or not. I'd certainly like to see Disney try.
  14. No, A Dog's Way Home was Sony's cheap dog movie. The real sequel to A Dog's Purpose comes out this week. The trailer seemed pretty heartwarming.
  15. Yeah, it would be mediocre but inoffensive if we didn't have the animated version to compare it to.
  16. They can use the theme in one of the last trailers to send the hype train to the moon.
