Not unexpected but is there any reasoning being given for its rejection? Do we know why it would not release?

If you've followed the last couple of weeks of CCP politics you wouldn't be surprised. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if Xi bans foreign films altogether soon. He's further tightening control over everything, including gaming and entertainment and even curse words in online comments.

Yup, looks like a videogame cut scene. Not trolling, it just makes me realise how far video games have come in the 13 years since the last one came out.

At least the water scenes might (and it's a big 'might') justify the 3D. Definitely curious to see how this is received.

I feel the same way. The environment is pretty to look at but all the blue people look the same and has a slight uncanny valley thing going on. The whale looks awesome though.

If the plan is for Hugh Jackman to be the MCU’s Wolverine, that’s pretty lame, but  I can’t say I’m surprised by that. I wish Marvel could’ve just left the Fox X-Men “universe” behind, but I already knew they wouldn’t be doing that the moment they announced a third Deadpool movie.

He's obviously not going to be the MCU's Wolverine. This is clearly a one off. Deadpool kills the X-men universe kind of thing.

  4. A solid 7-7.5 for me. Some of the visuals were just astounding. Really loved the dwarves. Both Durin and Disa were amazing, and the (strained) friendship between Durin and Elrond is great. And surprisingly I actually liked the Harfoots.

Biggest issue is with Galadriel and the High Elves. I especially hate the whole return to Valinor scene. Gil-Galad has no authority to order anyone to sail West, and certainly would not order Galadriel who is his great aunt. Also the way the scene was shot it just looked absolutely ridiculous. Not liking Galadriel's whole motivation being based on Finrod's death either, and the change to Finrod's death. It's just a weird way to go with her character. Finrod was good in the one scene he was in, still wish they gave him long hair.

Elrond and Celebrimbor's conversation about the Feanor and the Silmarils was great though, and you can already see the seeds being planted for where it takes the story. Looking forward to more from both of them.

Jaws had today for Thursday 438 sold tickets (with showtimes in 5 of my 7 theaters) = up 13% since yesterday.
Comp: E.T. had also on Wednesday of its release week 509 sold tickets.

For Friday it had today 441 sold tickets = up 13.5% since yesterday.

Comp: E.T. had on the same day 422 sold tickets.
And the Saturday stays the best day with 700 sold tickets = up 49.5% since yesterday.
Nice Saturday jump! That's a higher presale number than what most films have on Thursday for Thursday but Idk how to evaluate it in this particular case (a long weekend, cheap tickets, and an old film...).

NWH had today for Thursday 201 sold tickets (yes, it decreased :().

For Friday it had today 184 sold tickets (the same).

The Saturday looks far better than the other two days with 534 sold tickets = up 25% since yesterday.
Idk what happened. The Thursday and Friday sales decreased because of the AMC Fresh Meadows. I counted it again, it's no mistake, NWH has the same number of showtimes as yesterday but the presales did go down on Thursday and Friday. Maybe people recognized that the Saturday is more cost-effective? All other theaters „behave“ normal. Let's see what happens till tomorrow.

Not much change for Barbarian which had today 100 sold tickets for next Thursday.
Comps (both films were on sale for 24 hours): The Black Phone had 95 sold tickets

and Beast had 53 sold tickets.

For next Friday it had 24 sold tickets.
The Black Phone had after ca. 24 hours 34 sold tickets

    and Beast had 26.

AMC Fresh Meadows decreased because that area is mostly Asians and my people realized it's much cheaper on Saturdays and are too cheap not to change days ;)

I'm not bothered by whoever they choose as BP. I'm very concerned about Iron Heart. Don't care for her show so this feels like a mandate to promote that thing. Don't care about her journey (you can see her build her suit in the trailer) but thats seems to be a big part of the plot. So we have grieving family and kingdom, attack by Namor, someone's journey to become BP and Riri Williams journey to become full-fledged Iron Heart. One thing is not like the other.

I'd say based on a trailer that she'll have simialr role to America Chavez so if you liked McGuffin Chavez I guess you'll like McGuffin Williams. I was not impressed.

You're assuming a lot of things based on 2 seconds in the trailer. She's in this movie the same reason Black Panther was introduced in Civil War. It worked great in that movie no reason why it can't work here.
