  1. THE AMAZING SPIDER-MANWORLD WAR Z or MIB lll
  2. That's terrible for HAPPY FEET ll. Just terrible.
  3. FRIDAY 10 PM, 5TH UPDATE: Sources are giving me this early Top 5 rundown. Refined numbers and full analysis later: 1. Breaking Dawn Part 1 (Summit) NEW [4,061 Theaters] Friday $73.5M (including $30.2M midnights), Estimated Weekend $139M Yowza! Summit Entertainment is cautiously optimistic now that this fourth Twilight Saga installment Breaking Dawn Part 1 will match or beat the biggest one-day and Friday and weekend opening in the franchise’s history. Despite the worst reviews, this pic is besting the Twilight sequel New Moon. In any case it’s shattering the four-month old domestic box office slump. Also, the penultimate pic based on Stephenie Meyer’s vampire romance novels is off to a great start internationally as it started its roll out in 54 markets around the globe with Wednesday screenings from select territories totalling $8.9 million. Hollywood should thank females young and old for keeping the box office afloat this weekend. Seriously, give thanks. 2. Happy Feet Two (Warner Bros) NEW [3,606 Theaters] Friday $6M, Estimated Weekend $22.5M Given how well family fare is doing at the North American box office these days, the real test for this 3D sequel to George Miller’s beloved 2D toon will be over Thanksgiving weekend. But for now Happy Feet Two is grossing only half of the 2006 original, which opened to a $12M Friday and $41.5 weekend. “One word: disaster. Despite being in 3D,” a rival studio exec snarked to me tonight. Pic is releasing on the anniversary of the original. Hollywood expected a weekend opening in the high $30sM. Nope. And next week The Muppets movie debuts so more competition for the tots and their parents. On the other hand, singing and dancing penguins are darn cute. 3. Immortals (Relativity) Week 2 [3,120 Theaters] Friday $4.5M (-70%), Estimated Weekend $13M That’s a big drop for a 300-clone that underperformed last Friday. Immortals is not the Hail Mary that Relativity hoped it would be. 4. Jack And Jill (Sony) Week 2 [3,438 Theaters] Friday $4M (-60%), Estimated Weekend $13M This Jack And Jill won’t have the usual gazillion multiple of most of Adam Sandler/Happy Madison comedies. 5. Puss In Boots (DreamWorks Animation/Paramount) Week 4 [3,415 Theaters] Friday $3M, Estimated Weekend $12M This toon cat Puss In Boots still has a lot more than nine lives left.
  4. 70% RT 81% Flixster B+ Yahoo 2,790,881 DVD units sold $44,873,067 Consumer spending Don't you think these aren't enough? I really enjoyed the first. Well I guess, to each his own.
  5. Domestic total of course. I think it's possible.
  6. Is it possible for SHERLOCK HOLMES: A GAME OF SHADOWS to beat BD l?
  7. But ALL tracking sites didn't say it will open to mid 20s.
  8. FRIDAY 5 PM, 4TH UPDATE: Summit Entertainment sources tell me thatBreaking Dawn Part 1 is softening slightly tonight for a $70 million opening day. So now this fourth Twilight Saga feature is targeting $135M for its debut weekend. That will be the 2nd biggest weekend debut since the studio began making Stephenie Meyer’s vampire romance novels into films — behind only theTwilight sequel New Moon‘s $142.8M. That’s about halfway between what Summit lowballed and what rival studios highballed Breaking Dawn‘s grosses would be.
  9. So what number should we expect for HF ll? 42 M - 45 M?
  10. Now that fans have stayed, I think there's no reason to think they won't for the final film.
  11. This beating DH l (OW) just shows how uber strong the support of the fan base is. Legs is a different matter though.
  12. The reason why I enjoy Pixar films is because they don't have "forced" jokes or are full of pop culture references. BRAVE will be fine.
  13. So what OW are we looking at? Wow, girl power is just strong.
  14. Have just watched the film. Enjoyed it for what it is. Fans will love the ending the most. Wait after the end credits.
  15. By the way, when I was watching the film, I slowly realized that those women murmuring in front of me and my friend were in their 40s and 50s. There were scenes in which they reacted in unison and was like that of the funny green aliens from TOY STORY. I and my friend couldn't stop laughing.
  16. THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN l21:30 Friday, The PhilippinesThe movie started slow, and if you're not a fan you might have gotten bored. However, I enjoyed the film for what it is. Obviously there was cheesiness with all the funny stuff, but I thought it's quite enjoyable even if I was baffled by some scenes. The movie is not as action packed as TTS: ECLIPSE but the latter part of it compensates for the lack of action in the first hour. I haven't read the book but I think the movie is better than it.The movie is obviously not epic as HARRY POTTER. The sets are smaller, the characters are one-dimensional, the story is more simple. But maybe this simplicity is what makes it so popular to its fans.By the way, I think Pattinson is a better actor than Lautner. Lautner's "cheesy" voice is just annoying. Stewart is not Hollywood's typical barbie girl but there's something about her that makes her stand out. Seeing Bella weakened by the product of her love with Edward was creepy though.BB
