I’m confused how Sonic beat Detective Pikachu. It doesn’t make sense lol. The last sonic game couldn’t even touch 1 million copies and most of the games had horrible reviews. Pokemkn Sword & Shield were some of the best selling games of last year and sold 16 million copies in a month. A record breaking sales for switch games!!! It seems Pokémon fans don’t go to the movies if at all.

Smash outsold.

Mario movie flopping for a second time will be a kii. Nintendo is so stupid for picking them. Should have made the movie themselves. Have y’all seen smash brothers CG trailers?????

Illumination flop era is coming....

Aladdin? Broke out to less than BATB. Aladdin 1992 was a much bigger hit than the original BATB. It was the second biggest Disney animated film right behind TLK.

Detective Pikachu had lack of screens WW. Not just in China. Most cinemas preferred to play endgame instead of it during opening weekend. (The problem was the pre sale were low so most theaters don’t know what to expect...) But the sales did ramp up close to release date. By next weekend, John wick came out. So it didn’t really have much premium screens if at all really. It also had no imax release because of endgame.

Fortnite’s impact.

Pikachu had no imax screens and had to share most screen time with endgame. Domestic and overseas. Pikachu later got released in imax only in japan. (2 weeks ago). It didn’t even open with imax shows due to Disney contracts with cinemas. Both Shazam and Godzilla have most premium screens all to themselves.

Cinematic universe is happening. Anna ou💃 DP2, Red & Blue, Mewtwo origin story were rumored last year.

Honestly, Dectective Pikachu was funnier.

Saw booksmart. It was not funny at all. There was like one genuinely funny scene that actually reminds me of mean girls. The rest are unnecessarily vulgar, dumb and cringey. There’s fuck, vagina, lesbian, drugs jokes every three seconds of the movie. It’s flopping?

I mean I can still enjoy the original version, but I’m just going to pretend this remake doesn’t exist. Not in my universe. No ma’am.

Aladdin is bombing in China. The Chinese have taste. We love that.

Aladdin: Not biased here. Aladdin is one my favorite animations (Along with The Little Mermaid, Spirited Away, Paprika and Fooly Cooly). The fact that I saw this opening night. I didn’t even see Pikachu opening night 🙃 The remake is a soulless cash grab I can’t. I can see how it’s appealing to some people. If you stan One Direction, BTS or those awful Korean k pop groups you’ll love this movie. It is an equivalent to a zero talent singer dancing around with tons of effects LIP SYNCING to awful songs they didn’t even write themselves. Where’s the talent???? Where’s the artistry the original had? Where is it??? I can’t find it.

Got back from it seeing it and I feel so dumb. Wasted my money and now I feel guilty for contributing to its opening weekend. NEVER AGAIN.

I hope they sort out all the troll ratings on old movies as well. Not just the current ones with the new system in place.

I like trailer quite a bit but the CG looks cheap and bad. Maybe they’ll touch it up closer to release.

As long as the competition keeps tanking like that (Aladdin) It’ll keep most of its screens and I oop. 👏 FLOP2 pre sales ain’t looking too hot either.
