  1. I realize I may be the last person who still cares about KOTM's final numbers. However, why are there NO estimates on any sites? On Tuesday it was still in 800 theaters, and the estimates exist for movies in 1. Any ideas?
  2. Could you explain the conversion so I might follow your conversations with an idea how it is doing in US$? Thanks
  3. I was hoping for closer to 1.6m. Do you agree the drops seem to be stabilizing, but we're probably looking at a final gross of $105-$106?
  4. What do those figures translate to in US$? Also, What final gross can we expect?
  5. Godzilla's budget is always shown as $170, yet everyone insists its $200. Where is this info coming from. Not conjecture, what facts?
  6. There is no way Rocketman's legs are strong enough to catch Godzilla's gross. 20 mill plus lead. Sorry. Don't even want to talk about WW.
  7. As I scour the different threads, I keep coming up with a different number. I really hope I'm wrong. I'm reading revised predictions of 130 China, 25 Japan, 105 Dom. Can any of you see the rest of the world which is at 90 right now, having more than 10 left? That totals 360. How about the big 3? Any of them have a surprise left for us?
  8. Thank you. That helps follow your thinking. Are my figures accurate? I have it at $115 in China, and $15 in Japan as of today? Can't figure out the rest of the world to save my life. That's $215 from Dom, China and Japan. Any idea the rest of the world?
  9. Is there anyway to follow International minus China and Japan? I can never find those numbers outside Box Office Mojo, and they don't update very often. If I'm correct, Godzilla has $85 Dom, $115 China and $15 Japan? Any idea the rest of the world? An average of only $2 mill per country would be $100. Correct?
  10. What do you think we're looking at for final gross?
  11. I understand most of what you display. Can you explain the *1.80? Thanks
  12. I don't agree with that. Now, I do think GvK needs to produce somewhere between KSI and G14, but I don't think the approach needs to be DOA if it doesn't. I think Legendary and Warner would need to evaluate. They have a series that, at its worst, is good for $350 WW, $100 Dom. Just film to those numbers. Bring down the cost. I believe these movies can be made for $100-$125. The average Godzilla fan tolerates the Toho effects. They can make these appear much better visually than those entries, for a lot less than $170-$200. I'd still go. Most G fanboys would still go. I believe we've seen the numbers when you rely on the hardcore fan base. They would still show up.
  13. I absolutely agree. This is a great summer movie! Just go, relax and have fun. Definitely deserves a better fate. I'm sure I just invited a whole new slew of arguments, but...oh well! Please note: I said "a great summer movie." I didn't say a great film! This is Godzilla, this ain't The Godfather, lol.
  14. I don't think so. Discount Tuesday in the summer? Which movie is more likely to draw families and kids on summer? Godzilla will increase its lead on Rocketman today.
  15. I have to confess. I really didn't like Rocketman. I don't see it. I wasn't expecting a pseudo-fantasy musical. I assumed it would be a biographical movie in the vein of Bohemian Rhapsody. Don't understand the hype.
  16. I didn't see anyone mention Jurassic World or MCU. John Wick is sheer nonsense in the writing department.
  17. I loved Godzilla 2014. I actually forgot just how much until I screened it again Wednesday night before the opening on Thursday. I loved it in 2014, and it holds up well. Now, to be honest, I loved KOTM more. Of course, that was from nostalgia as much as anything. Finally seeing the big 3 in addition to Godzilla was more than I ever expected. But, more than that, I found it to be a great summer movie. I had a smile on my face the majority of the night. Funny, last night my wife wanted to watch John Wick 3. It was mind-numbing. They complain about KOTM's script? Wick is the worst written, cliche-riddled excuse to film ridiculous action sequences I have experienced since...John Wick 2, lol. I kept looking at my watch. I guess I don't understand what the public wants anymore.
  18. Interesting dynamic developing. At least one I did not expect. RT 91% verified...90% unverified. Great numbers, but I assumed it would be the other way around.
  19. Interesting point and one I'm glad you brought up. Completely false. I watched Godzilla 2014 the night before and I had forgotten just how dark the fights were. I thought I was watching the "Long Night" from GOT again. I had to adjust my pic to see the monsters. Last night, I had absolutely no issues with KOTM. The night scenes were perfectly viewable. Ironically, I never even thought about it while watching. It was literally a non-issue for me. Anyone else?
  20. I couldn't agree more. In fact, my son said the same thing when we walked out the theater door. "It felt like a Showa film." This movie was what I asked for...a Godzilla movie that didn't take itself too damn seriously. It delivered a fun, giant monster movie that ACTUALLY included Godzilla. Further, there were a lot of Toho Easter eggs making for an enjoyable repeat experience. Yes, I will see it 2 more times. Interesting point, as I walked my dog late last night something dawned on me. In my mind, the Legendary Godzilla has become Godzilla to me. In every way as the Showa version or the Heisei, (my personal favorite by the way,) this iteration IS Godzilla for me. He has arrived and is ingrained in my mythology. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, mine is simply stop wishing for what might have been...this is what it is, and I enjoyed the hell out of it for what it is.
